Random Week in Retirement | This Week’s Update
Well we had a fun little time in Columbia, my old hometown where I grew up, but it did make my heart heavy as there was not only good times there but some heartbreaking times as well. So a little heavy at times. We had company over as Aunt Martha and Uncle Ken were up from Florida (Yulee/Amelia Island area) near Jacksonville. We enjoyed getting to see them. Final DeCluttering: Minimalists Won’t Like It
Here’s the final episode of going through our kitchen cabinets to declutter. You can watch it HERE. George had already gone through the cabinets a year ago and consulted me on a few things but we wanted to go through them again now that I’m retired and get rid of a few more things, which we did. We have a lot of cabinet space, so if it gave us joy and we anticipated that we could still use it, we kept it. How I Manage to Combat Seasonal Depression and Winter Blues
Coming off the heels of a 30 day respiratory illness and a two week period of a cold arctic vortex with temps at freezing or below, I found myself struggling to feel normal. The days were blustery, cold, and dreary. I wanted to embrace the “cozy” I’d looked forward to all year, and the indoor productivity that has called me for so long. But I found myself without motivation and not wanting to do anything. And for me, that just felt wrong. It was a huge flag.
