    A Couple of Surprises Followed by Pizza Yesterday we had to get up around 5:30 so we could get Mom by 7:15 and get her to an appointment at Centennial (across Nashville in rush hour) by 9:00 a.m. We did it with a few minutes to spare! Mom’s surprised everyone with two things yesterday. 1) She told the nurse practitioner that her UTI was back and she’d had symptoms for a week and a half. 2) She asked for Christmas ornaments from her house.     Life Reset: The Week I Tried to Get My Life Back

    The Week Everything Blew Up Coming off of a very busy time period in which my Mom had two heart procedures, a LOT of appointments, two hospital stays, home health care interviews —-> that morphed into a move to assisted living, and going through her house and prepping for an estate sale……I decided to reset my life, enjoy doing some things we wanted and needed to do, and get our life back and then THIS HAPPENED.     Quilts: Irony of The Love Sewn Within vs Discord it Brings

    It’s funny this thing about quilts. Quilts were made with hands, lots of thoughts processed while stitching it together over many many hours. How our grandmothers, going back, had thoughts about who might sleep with the quilt at night, who might have it draped over them as they read God’s word in the mornings, who might inherit the quilts later in life. Maybe I’m completely wrong. Maybe our family quilts were stitched out of anger, or sadness. Maybe someone didn’t know what else to do and was so mad that the only way they could calm themselves was to quilt, or maybe they baked, or wrote – like I do.…
