Life Reset: The Week I Tried to Get My Life Back

The Week Everything Blew Up

Coming off of a very busy time period in which my Mom had two heart procedures, a LOT of appointments, two hospital stays, home health care interviews —-> that morphed into a move to assisted living, and going through her house and prepping for an estate sale……I decided to reset my life, enjoy doing some things we wanted and needed to do, and get our life back and then THIS HAPPENED. All is well on this Saturday morning. It’s raining cats and zebras here and flood warnings are out. We don’t have to get out until later today. I hear the storms will be worse then, so hopefully we can dodge them but we get to see some friends that are dear to us that we have not seen in a while.

Yesterday Mom was in a good mood and I was in a good mood – so things went well. We ate at Cracker Barrel and got our nails and toes done. I find it best to just keep conversation at a minimum. The only problem we had was that she wanted to know where her black umbrella was. I told her probably at Goodwill at this point. But she hardly goes anywhere and we have umbrellas. I think to her dying day she will be asking me where things are. I can’t tell her to quit asking for stuff though b/c she has to let me know of things she truly needs. lol

I’ve asked for the link of where our estate sale lady posted the furniture that was left but she never responded, so I’m wondering if it ever got posted. I know she is busy and that is fine if she didn’t. After all we are all squared away and our sale is over. But it was nice to offer, if she really did post it. I think we’ll have someone come through then and just pick up the stuff. I couldn’t find where it was listed anywhere on line, but was wanting to share it as I might have someone that might be interested. I have the cleaning lady that wants some of it and I’ll get with her to get that picked up this week.

I want the stuff out of the house this week!

I’ll be getting with Julie, our realtor Monday to list it.

Everything is moving along ok with us. We are getting things done here, a little at the time and making some plans to be able to live our lives again. And I’m moving on a little each day from the stresses of the last few months. I’m looking forward to fall and the fact that August actually touches September makes me smile. All the stores had Halloween out already which you will see in the NEXT vlog.

I do have a lot to do today here that I’m trying to catch up on as we have still been having some very busy weeks.

Happy to say that the garage doors are re-scheduled to be installed this Thursday. And we will be scheduling the gutters and the area under the gutters (forget what it is called) within the next two weeks. We don’t have the date yet.

Mom does have an appointment in Nashville this week. All of us dread it, but we will make it a fun day hopefully and possibly get to eat out somewhere cool on the way back in!

I’m so glad to have a day off as I call it.
