Much Accomplished, Another Baby Shower, and Planning for 2021

What a wonderful weekend it has been. Much has been accomplished. Having the extra day has been a God send. Most all of the gifts are wrapped except for gift cards and liquor/wine gifts. I do have stocking stuffers to get. And pretty much every day has been mapped out for the week as to what errands will be done when.

We have also planned out our Christmas Eve and Christmas Brunch menus. We are so ecstatic over the upcoming time with family.

I also need to mention that we DID NOT go the Ornament Party on Saturday (yesterday). As much as we really wanted to see our friends, we just didn’t feel it was good to be at a party with the virus raging as we go into the nearby Christmas holidays and in seeing our soon to be born grandson not long afterward. It’s risk enough being at work with family members of coworkers having the virus at times.

I snapped a few pics around the house for ya. So you don’t have to just focus on my words without some cheer around.

Roger again last night couldn’t sleep in the bed so George put him in the den/kitchen with doors to the rest of the house closed, like we normally do when we are gone. At some time in the early morning we heard him howling. He was put back in bed with us. But during the day he sleeps all day long. I’m not sure that he didn’t have a partial stroke the other day or a slight seizure of some sort. He was really acting strange and going sideways and holding a paw up in the air. I think I mentioned it yesterday. I just want him to go natural if he can. He’s just old and you can’t fix old too well. It’s a matter of time. I think he is losing some of his sight as well as he can’t seem to see where the water line is on the bowl. We have to keep it full. Or he will keep licking and standing there all day licking air til he quenches his thirst and finally gets it right. How sad is that?

George asked me if I was looking for a puppy? NOOOO. Not right now. Maybe after Texas, after spring, in warmer weather, after new pet friendly flooring. I can’t handle it right now. I need to get over this some more (losing Maisy) and let it digest and finish my grieving. Not that you don’t love another dog in different ways, as they all have such different personalities, but I just need to process losing her some more and certainly don’t need the headaches of another dog in Texas as that was an issue anyway. God and George must have known this was coming. I’m not sure Roger will make it long enough to go to Texas. I’m not sure even that he should go but can’t imagine anyone taking care of him either as he will be a hard one to keep – hard to pick up, won’t sleep at night, and so forth. He’s not going to like the trip very well either.

However, my heart is overjoyed that my friend Lisa, who lost her standard poodle, GiGi a year ago, has another one! His name is Reece (chocolate and peanut butter colors). I know she wouldn’t mind me sharing the love bug on my blog.

Did you know that hearing this news has helped even to heal my own heart some? It made me smile. I’m so excited for them. I can’t wait to meet him. They too had to wait to process some and also to do a few things before having another commitment. I want that for us too. Although I doubt we’ll wait a year. Our pets have always seemed to find us for some reason. So we’ll see what happens.

She’s about to pop!

Katy’s church shower was yesterday. And it was so nice just like the other one. I’m sharing the details. We also got a facetime from Katy yesterday to see all the things and to see the nursery coming together. Look at the shower details here. It was so nice. I’m real good at stealing photos at this point. What ya gonna do when you can’t be there in person and you are 14 hours apart?

Like how cute is all this? I know that the younger generation is really getting into these board displays. It’s awesome. I’ve seen recipe books on putting them together.

And of course all of this is perfect for Texas.

It is really getting exciting to realize that our little grandson will be here soon. The days are getting closer.

I spent some time this afternoon trying to segment all of my to do’s that were floating around in my head. My office is still a bit cluttered as the wrapping station is still in here. I have to keep it up until probably mid week or so, to make sure we don’t have something else spring up. But we can keep it at the bottom of the basement stairs and grab it if we need.

Having a few minutes in my office space at least on one side of the room, I was able to gather my thoughts, segment out what to do this week, next week, after Christmas, and after New Years. I’ve had some time to list everything out and prioritize. You know me and my planning. I have to have to have a plan! With or without COVID world, I WILL HAVE a plan. I’m coming out of the grief a bit more and concentrating on living and what all we get to look forward to for the coming year – EVEN IF much of it is spent at home.

So with all these things swirling in my head and looking at my current little small planner and how even with nothing going on, I’ve filled it to the brim – I decided to up my planner size. It’s a little bit bigger with enough room to write appointments or errands or reminders on one side and to do lists on the other for each day.

So I ordered this one. It has a flexible cover. I’ll never use a hardback one again. It’s 8 X 10 but much better for my needs.

And with all the “planning” and “learning” I’m going to be doing this year with camera and vlogging, I decided to go with a plain 3 subject notebook for note taking, planning, and keeping up with my thoughts and ideas. It’s also flexible, but I ordered a normal size notebook b/c I plan to learn a lot and plan a lot and those “big” ideas need to be parked where I can see them. This makes me happy.

I do have some thoughts rolling around in my head and it’ll be fun to see where God leads everything.

Fall Peak Weekend, Presidential Winner, Baby Shower, and a Big Night Out

What an absolute joy of a weekend. The temps were perfect. I could not stop taking pics. So many years the beauty has not been as vivid and just dried up, but this year we had more color and I had more time to enjoy and bask in its beauty. Above was the scene while ironing. Always love looking into the woods while ironing.

The kitchen view of course had color.

The sun room was gorgeous! And the doors were kept open to the sunroom since the temps were mild.

A Winner has been “CHOSEN”?

While posting pics I saw that Biden had been called has the winner of the presidential election. I posted a statement in Facebook that it wasn’t my candidate but that regardless I had BIG BIG expectations from Mr. Biden to protect our rights as citizens and not let our country go to pot, as it already has and that he has some big tasks ahead to reverse it. I really just want to live in a safe place, have appropriate rights as a person, and for everyone to love one another. Even though he is not my candidate, I will hope and pray for him and will still expect for my rights as a US Citizen to be met and to not have any further hardships as a country. He has a lot on his shoulders and I hope he is up to it. Of course as soon as I posted it – my friends started commenting and attacking one another on the post. And telling me not to get ahead of myself. I stayed out of it. Even when you say something nice and have good intentions people attack it on Facebook. I’ve come so close to just deleting the entire account a few times. But it holds so many memories and photos on there, that I hate to. Plus I don’t want to lose contact with friends.

I was told it wasn’t over yet. It’s not. They are still counting. Yes anything can happen. Still, I can post what I want. I don’t know who to trust and who to believe but I remember what it was like in HR and you did an investigation and the mud slinging started and anything and everything started coming out – true or speculated. So glad I don’t have to deal with that stuff anymore and this reminds me of those days. I just try to ignore it because you don’t really know what is fact or fiction as I sit in my little house in Mount Juliet.

So I’ve not looked at the news this morning. But as of now, as far as I know, Mr. Biden, “Tag, Your It” and we will see what you can do in those shoes. I expect much of you as I would any leader! I will still expect the same from you as I did Trump. I was not a fan of Trump’s arrogance and tweets, but he seemed the best candidate in my opinion that matched where I wanted the country to be. I think those traits really hurt him in the presidency. I’m not sure any candidate can adequately run our country to tell the truth. Our country is mainly changing because of the people in it and their attitudes and corruption. So if anyone can solve those issues and keep us our rights, more power to you literally! I will pray that the Lord moves through you!

Katy’s Virtual Baby Shower

Saturday morning we had time to leisurely work on household projects, laundry, some planning, and getting ready for the week ahead. We were in Gallatin, TN by 1:00 p.m. for Katy’s virtual shower.

My SIL Susan had some little snacks sitting out.

What great fun!

We then hung out for a while after saying our good bye’s virtually and we headed to Madison to the new Yahoo Brewery there. We had plans to celebrate Susan’s birthday.

Everyone nearly was outside. And why not – lots of spread out tables and seating and the weather beautiful and deer grazing nearby.

George, Kevin, and Susan. And I did my best to get a selfie with ALL of us. I’m not good at that.

Afterwards we went to have a nice meal at Lincoya restaurant in Hendersonville. We shared a poutine dish which was OUT OF THIS WORLD!

Poutine is fries, gravy, cheese curds, and onion straws. It also had bits of roast beef in there. They had so many nice things on the menu that it was hard to decide. So when Susan said she was getting a burger I let me eyes wander over to that side of the menu. And I liked what I saw and could get my salad too! And as it turned out. I think it was the best burger around, possibly the best one I’ve ever had. I was hungry and it was snarfed down in a hurry! No fries. We already had them under the poutine! I needed the salad!

We sat by a most unusual clock. Susan said it was previously owned by Conway Twitty. The restaurant we ate at used to be Mallard’s. I will want to go back here. I really liked it.

We came home and slept well and then had a big day Sunday at home. Once again the leaves falling got my attention as we had some wind gusts mid-day. This is looking out my office window.

More of the sun room. I told ya I couldn’t quit taking pics.

Big Day of Shopping Online

George and I gave Alexa a lot of ingredients for our shopping list for Thanksgiving. We will go ahead and get what we need for the meal this week. George secured the Smoked Turkey from Aldi. And I sat down and began ordering things. George’s, Momma’s, Aunt Martha’s, some for Katy. George will have to help me with the men, and he always does. But we are in good shape.

Christmas plans are also coming together sortof. So I am feeling good about our weekend progress. I stripped the guest bedroom sheets and washed them so I will shift some focus onto the cleaning – as there are things that need to be dusted and cobwebs in the corners and such. I did get our blue linoleum floors mopped yesterday – except the part where Maisy was sleeping. LOL With each mop stroke, I dreamed of my new flooring – coming soon!

And now I need to go get a second cup of coffee and get to work. Oh, I painted my nails which needed it. It won’t last but 3 days. I need to get a top coat I guess. I just cut them all short as my attempt to grow them is not working right now. I really miss getting them done but I am wanting to use that money toward my monthly subscriptions I have – in support of my hobbies. So when I look at my nails I remember how much I love making the imovies. However, I did not have time to work on the current one in progress due to the HOLIDAY HOOPLA and events we have had planned but I keep making some more footage so we’ll have a lot to do going forward.

I am trying to remember to video more as life happens. But not very good at that in public yet. I also have noticed my iphone getting slow. I deleted a lot of old video footage from it Saturday while we were traveling in the car and that helped. The goal is to keep getting better on every level. I am going to start working on my 2021 plans soon. Looking forward to that. In the mean time we stay focused on the holidays to try and make it special for everyone as it’s different this year.

Here’s my 2021 goals so far! LOL. Don’t worry it’ll be filled up soon. January is Grandbaby Month and February is Flooring and Hibernation Month. That is all I have so far. Ok off to more coffee! See ya mid week or as I have something to say!

Fall Camera Shots, Baby Showers, and an Evening OUT!

I was in the laundry room – you know – doing laundry and ironing and all that great stuff. I looked down and laughed. Maisy was all in the sheets and hanging out with me. When we left to go vote, she actually slept in there. So I’m thinking of making her a bed there for when we are gone. Roger seems to take over the dog beds (all of them) and so she won’t get on them unless I have a clean blanket over them. So I think I will just put a blanket there for while we are gone then Roger will go for the softer bed and leave her area alone.

Not long ago I used a credit on Audible to download Hamilton. I was shocked at what my credit was bringing me. Wow! Thirty Five hours of listening time. THIRTY FIVE HOURS!

It seems that when I go back and forth from house to car – it doesn’t sync. Maybe there is some setting I’m missing, but I have to listen to it over again usually (you can’t fiddle with things in the car while driving). So I decided I would have a dedicated laundry time book going since I spend a lot of time in there every week. So, yeah…wonder how many months it will take me to get through this one? lol

Got the kitchen clean! It wasn’t too bad but I did have a few dishes to clean up after the Friday night spaghetti dinner.

She is my special girl, following me around the house wherever I am working.

Friends asked us out to dinner last night and we had a splendid time. On the square in Lebanon, TN eating at a new to us place called “Town Square Social”. Oh my gosh. It is wonderful. An old building with modern touches and yes a very social atmosphere. I don’t think there were a lot of social distancing going on. It was crowded. And we had a great time eating off of this WIDE range of a menu. It had bar food, but it had salads, tacos, burgers, pizzas, wings, mac and cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches, Nashville Hot dishes. And the food was special, not your average. (Sorry dudes in the windows).

We had wings, chicken nachos, and pizza for the table. Then we each ordered our own meal, knowing we would likely have 2nd’s for another meal today. The pizza was from their wood fired oven and was just a piece of heaven. I want to go back for more! We are putting it on the calendar to accompany a Lebanon Christmas shopping trip one Saturday.

Lebanon, TN is about a 20 to 30 minute drive from our house. Reaching it’s outskirts in about 15 but the innards of the city is probably more like 30. It’s a small town with quite a bit of growth lately and of course we have decided to “rediscover” what it has to offer with this upcoming trip. (Yay more to video, LOL).

Here was the brick inside the building. I took a pic mainly as it is “texture” I can use as transition pieces between videos.

So I took some pics outside with the camera and some video of the fall trees and George mowing. Really just wanted to see if I could video properly. I also did some videoing inside the house. Just kindof redoing some of the video I had messed up earlier having it on the wrong settings or SOMETHING!! Everything came out ok. I guess I took both raw images and jpeg images and need to learn more about that. As I got a TWOFER (two for one surprise). I think I had it on the settings that the guy in the video told me to have it on. I’m anxious to see the differences b/w the two and to learn more about what it is doing b/w the raw and jpeg. I have no idea what I’m doing yet. But. I know more than I did and was happy with the images from yesterday. George did a great job cleaning up the yard a bit and doing a final (maybe we’ll see) mow.

Here playing around with the focus spot through the lens. Focusing here on the bench chair in the woods.

Here focusing on the closer object, the leaves. I love, love, love, being able to do this where it is blurry in the background!

LOOK! It’s a drive-by greeting!

So the leaves are starting to turn with the recent cooler temps. The day temps are still very warm 60’s to 80’s.

You can see the cemetery begin to come into view.

And there is our house from the cemetery.

And a focus in on the leaves in front of me…

The camera did a wonderful job of capturing the detail on the tombstones.

And of course this morning, I had leftovers as I watched The Wynn’s getting back to their boat in Tonga. Yeah I know, so much for diet mode. Thus drinking lots of water, not planning on eating again til dinner, and planning a lower calorie – perhaps even a cleansing day – for tomorrow!

Just kind of a cloudy day today with a bit of rain moving into the area apparently. I’ve been behind on keeping up with the weather! Some days I’m surprised. That is NOT like me.

I’m going to be working on the iMovie some today I think. But I do have some other things I need to do – like a Target order for some household supplies. A friend at work is having a baby and I need to send something to her house. That is what I had planned all along that way she doesn’t have to wag it from work to home but it’ll be delivered. We can’t have any kind of parties at work, celebrations, or birthdays now, due to COVID. No sharing of food or anything. They did set up a table for her at work with balloons and flowers. It was very pretty. But lonely with no people or love surrounding it.

Katy had a shower yesterday given by her friends. I am not sure what I can share/not share. I think she didn’t want a lot shared by video but I think she is ok with a few things in the blog. I’m pretty sure I’m safe to share these few things if I rub out some details of the location. They are not allowed to share anything with company logo, or property etc. The shower is not on the property though. Isn’t she pretty, my girl? I put a star over the ranch name. In case you wonder what that is, LOL.

This is how big the baby is!
Party kitchen, it’s just Gorgeous!
Caramel Apples

The shower was so pretty. Looks like a wonderful fall theme related to pumpkins “Little Pumpkin on its way!”. I can’t wait to see all the things she got for the shower. Looking forward to that facetime call! And that is all she wrote for today!
