Are there ANY Accomplishments This Week So Far?

Wow, look at that, Chet made me pretty. Speaking of pretty, I ordered some Laure Geller makeup today. Been seeing it forever but they had a Labor Day deal. I got the powder, blush, brush, highlighter, and eyeshadow for under $40, and with a free shipping deal. I’m excited. I rarely order anything like that ever on a whim. I’d always wanted to try it. Chet said it had good reviews.

I decided that I would blog this week on my accomplishments. So I would actually see what I really get done in a day. I can see as I age, I’m forgetting more and more about yesterday and what happened. Even trying to fill out my gratitudes in the Gratitude Plus app, I’m finding I can’t even remember much about the day before. I can but it’s fuzzy, ya know? So I switched to just listing anything I’m grateful for as it comes to my head, with no rules attached, lol.

But seriously, it’s healthy to SEE what I DID get done instead of focusing on what I didn’t. I’ve ALWAYS been this way though. It drives George a bit nuts, this list, this drive, these train tracks! But he handles me very well. He may not understand it as much as he’s just used to it. So today week will be fun. Let’s see what all we get done. (I was gonna do this all week, but as usual, life got busy. But here’s Monday anyway.)

Monday

We slept in til 7, first time a long time and the dogs let us do it. I know, though, that means I’ll be behind for the day. But that’s ok.

So far, as of 11:51 I’ve washed the sheets on my bed, did my Exodus devo and finally saw today that Pharaoh let the people go! We have talked with our friend Lisa, did World Bible School (two graded tests and adopted 14 more students).

We filmed the start of this week’s vlog “in the kitchen”. I’ve ordered Mom her essential oil diffuser and essential oils again. (We sold the old one in the estate sale, b/c she had never used it after we ordered it and she really does not have room for it). But Mom says the man down the hall has odors coming from his room so she wants it, LOL. Maybe I shouldn’t put an LOL at the end of that last sentence, but I did. It’s not really funny, but it made me LOL anyway. I’m nuts. It’s mainly the fact that she’s trying to cover his smell up that makes me laugh.

Oh and I ordered that Laura Gellar makeup this morning. George smiled when I asked if it was ok to order it from our money together or if I needed to order from my YouTube money. He acted like he had to think hard, and I caught his sarcasm. Usually I miss it, he was messing with me. (I don’t have to ask to buy things, but with the insurance $ payment making things a little tight, on my behalf, I thought I’d be kind and ask – after all, making myself look good for camera could be a Less Hustle More Coffee expense, well spent.) I’m saving for a camera I can take in my purse, and traveling, etc. And I need some more filming tripods, etc. And my batteries are kinda giving out and I need a new set. They are not holding their charge very well. But I’ll wait til later to order that.

I’ve fixed breakfast for myself. George ate leftovers and I added some leftovers to my dish as well. I fixed eggs with orange bell pepper and tomatoes, and had 2 spring rolls beside it leftover from a couple of days ago’s dinner. It was delightful and went well together.

I also got half way thru picking up spider traps from 12 months ago, because I’m about to put the new ones out. I got interrupted to do something else but need to get back at it.

I’ve taken my antibiotics for the morning. My ear is getting better but it’s a stubborn one this time. I can still feel its aggravated and I’m on my 4th day of antibiotics. Half way thru.

I got finished with the spider traps, after getting back to it, picking them all up and seeing what spiders we collected. Surprisingly my office had the most and it’s a bright room! Most of the 12 had about 2 spiders in them (brown recluse), but my office one had about 15. Yuk! We DO NOT have a problem with them though – we have not been bitten that I know of, or remember, and I think we would. They keep to themselves. And they hide. In the south, nearly every house has them, but the best way to keep them out is to use the spider traps and place them in every room. Since I’ve done that, I rarely see one alive. So check this off til next year, and yes, it’s in my iPhone reminder app – and pops up once a year on my list because I have it set on repeat.

Shower taken, smoothie made – was craving one! Walmart has frozen banana slices, FYI! And we had fresh strawberries and I added vanilla 2good yogurt.

I also cleaned the bathroom today – a weekly spritz of cleaning the counter top, bleaching the bathtub and tile, and rubber mat. Later in the week on my to do list, it will pop up to on the to do list to replace the bathroom shower mat (for a fresh one), scrub the tub with a brush, and clean the toilet. But I spread my duties out so I can do things quickly over a period of time.

The kitchen was not bad, and just required putting things in the dishwasher and starting it and wiping off the counter. And I got the sheets put back on my bed and put the tomorrow’s laundry in the washer tub with the detergent so that tomorrow morning when we get up I can start coffee and start the laundry as it’s almost ready to go.

Oh I forgot to say I did a 23 minute walk on my walk-pad? That is because the video I wanted to watch was 23 minutes and it makes it an easy walk. WE also take the dogs out numerous times all day so that eats up a chunk of time.

I did email, and as a result have more on my to do list, but that’s ok.

TRUE FACT: After reading the book EAT CAKE, I have been craving cake so bad. So I bought a piece of cake at Publix yesterday (their single ones) and got Mom one too for a surprise. I got white cake and white icing. I got Mom red velvet cake with cream cheese icing. Their carrot cake looked good but, I just wanted white cake and white icing. My favorite cake ever is “Wedding Cake” white on white. I knew in my heart when I finished the book, I’d be eating a piece of cake. I thoroughly enjoyed it but no more until the next wedding, event, birthday, etc. lol

Wednesday

Well, I decided to go ahead and finish this entry. It’s Wednesday now. I’d hoped that I would have been able to do this daily, to track progress, but I just got too busy. I will say that I have edited an entire video and uploaded it to YouTube the last couple of days, I have been filming for this week’s “in the kitchen” video. As a result, I’ve reorganized the pantry to work in some shopping we have been doing to build up items for the pantry. And I’ve worked on cleaning the kitchen as well.

I’ve moved around furniture in my office for painting. I’m typing this on a desk in the middle of the room. I still have to get my YouTube work done, so I’m plugged in and we will have to paint around it. I am ready to remove nails and begin taping it off. We went to Lowe’s and bought the paint. I have no idea how this will be worked into the schedule, but I’ll have to figure it out.

The roofing/gutter people are here and have worked for about 11 hours today removing the old soffit and getting the new soffit up and soon they will add in the gutters. I hope they do that quickly in case it rains. It’s supposed to tomorrow. What happens if the gutters are not there yet? I hope we don’t have to find out.

Anyway, I kept thinking it was Tuesday all day, but George reminded me it’s Wednesday. That’s how busy in the house I’ve been. The days they just roll into one another as does the to do lists. But yesterday we DID go to Mom’s and the necklace from around her walker wheel. George found two necklaces. One he had to break to get it out and the other he got out. lol. Her walker wheel would drag b/c the necklace was locking it up. She gets herself into so many messes. I took her whatever she had ordered from Amazon. I think it was Amish soap. Then she wanted me to order magnetic pencil for her tablet. And she wanted essential oils and a diffuser, and also a chime alarm on her door as a sensor so when people comes in her room it “dings”. They walk in and she’s dressing, etc and it makes her mad. I understand, I would not want to lose my privacy either. She actually says that everyone’s key will also go into all the other rooms. She said they tried it. She also said someone was in her room the other night. And that’s why she ordered the Chime. So who knows, but I can understand her being uneasy. I told her they were probably checking on her, but she said that wasn’t it, not in the middle of the night.

That’s about all I know right now. And I’m going to go relax. It’s 6:46, almost time for dinner. I think I will sleep good tonight. It’s been a busy 3 days.
