    Saturday, May 30 We attended a beautiful wedding Saturday of my nieces. It was an outside wedding. I was fearful it would rain, and it did, but mainly just all around and not in the spot where they were getting married. You could see the thunderheads in the distance. We had Mom with us. And I knew that the trip itself would be very difficult for her but we did it. Above is her grandmother corsage. We took both her walker and wheel chair and we actually needed both. Mom did a great job of packing. I had reminded her of what all to pack in case she forgot anything.…

    Aggressive Doctors, Mom’s Move Scheduled, and Everything in Between

    Monday, May 18, 2026 Sitting here drinking coffee in my office. All is going well. I had a doctor’s visit this morning. It was the annual check up. Full on. And it was 7:30 a.m, which was early but that meant I didn’t have to starve all day. I left having given urine sample and my blood. They couldn’t find a vein so she took it from my hand. This always happens. Blood pressure was spot on perfect. I left with my stool sample kit, which was embarrassing to trot through the lobby with.     Unwelcome Surprise this Week and Planning Mom’s Move

    Thursday, May 14 Well, sometimes things don’t go quite as planned. We have to accept that. I’m having a little mini crisis. Since about 8:30 last night, about an hour after dinner, I began having a sharp pain in my left side. I’m familiar with it. It’s some type of colon flare I get – it’s rare now when I get it and short lived. Sometimes I can just ignore it and it will go away. But this time it’s being a little persistent bugger. I was able to sleep since I took Tylenol, but awoke to pain again this morning at 4:00. I drank a whole glass of water…
