Productive Weekend: Getting Things Done and Weekly Update

Another week rolls by. And it’s Saturday at Seven CST, so the Less Hustle More Coffee live version is up. You can watch it HERE.
In this one I show you the eye liner tutorial that I did in the ranch video a few weeks back. I’m NO makeup artist, but someone asked. I also go through books (don’t worry, it was mostly on time lapse, but I share the results of some of what I got rid of and mostly sharing the cookbooks I was excited to go through. Also crossed quite a bit off the Summer Bucket list, and that made me happy. Still pondering the impact of the new kitchen curtains. A bit of humor throughout as George pops in – you know He will! It was a fun and relaxing weekend.
The VIDEO, this week. So a little update while I’m here. The week has gone by fast this week. The video work for the one above listed, took a lot of work. I had a lot of footage as I was off three days in a row. It was very hard to whittle it down from an hour and a half of footage to what it is. George is really riding me about my videos being too long. I agree, but sometimes it’s hard to decide to make two videos or just go for one long one. I’ll try to do better. I’m just limited in time though while working. It takes time to reset everything into TWO once you are into it. So it’s a goal I will be working on. I’m glad to work on it because life would be boring if you didn’t have something to perfect, right? lol. I also want more B Roll which I forget to do sometimes. Every week provides a new slate of trying to do something better or different. But when busy you fall into the trap of the same old ways because it’s quicker. But this week took very long tries at getting this video DONE. So I hope you enjoy the labor of love.
The work week was busy. I’ve not had a lot of extra time at work to do the extra work the other departments keep creating for me, but I did end up getting the state of KY set up. A driver was put in TN instead of KY in one of our two businesses. And so I had to register for business in the state of KY. Sometimes I don’t have all the answers to the questions, which makes it impossible to finish. So I’d get so far and have to quit. Things like “date of incorporation”, but I have a collection of those types of answers as I go along in this job, but it seems enrolling a business in a state is never an easy quick process, and sometimes confusing as every state is different. Often you are just creating an account and then you have to figure out how to get signed up for unemployment tax payments and withholding tax payments. Many times they are on varying websites. And then it’s confusing also whether you have a sign on account for each company or having both companies on one sign on (our main company and our subsidiary company). States are also different there. Sometimes you can only have one email address for each account and not both if separate. Oh My Gosh. I’m working my way through the maze. Once I get thru the maze and set up and link to tax payment portals, I can begin to make payments. I also had a new person that started in Illinois and that one seemed easier to set up because I think I just had to renew that one. I’ve already paid taxes there. But gosh, my head has been spinning. KY has actually given me a headache! I’ve plugged away at this for the last 3 days but I think the hard part is done, but joke could be on me. We’ll see if I ever get it to. the point of being able to pay taxes. Why is it so difficult to convince a state they need your money! lol.

Mom. We got our nails done Thursday and then went to Olive Garden. It was so good. I got the chicken scampi. The chicken was good and crisp in the dish and that made it so good. On Friday she had a doc appt so I had to leave work early and go do that. She was going once a month the past few years, the last couple of times it was about every 7 weeks, and now it is every 10 weeks going forward. So we don’t have to go again until August. After her appt we went to O’ Charlies.
OMGosh. A VERY BAD O’Charlies Experience. They are just really going downhill. They used to be “the spot”. We were met with having to wait 30 minutes in the lobby. The restaurant was practically empty. Mom had a walker and needed to have a table and not a booth as she prefers to sit in her walker and not in the chair. It’s easier for her to get up. So they set us in a table section but it was a section that no one was waiting in so the host or whoever, did not alert the waitress that we needed to be waited on. With so few people, the waitress who walked right past us should have known and ASKED! It took another 30 minutes after being seated to have our order taken. We both ordered margaritas. And the margaritas didn’t come until after we were about half finished with our dinner. It was very annoying. The waitress said the bartender was overwhelmed. Overwhelmed? There was maybe one person at the bar and hardly anyone in the restaurant, so I don’t know, maybe he was also the cook, lol. Meanwhile there were two staff cleaning an area (that wasn’t even messed up b/c…no customers). It was just annoying and I saw quickly why everyone else was at the OTHER restaurants across town. They have lost their magic touch. And you guessed it. We’ll be like those OTHER folk in the future who probably has experienced what we did that day. It was a very awful experience. They even brought Mom her chicken without the two sides that come with it. I mean….hello…really? We have to ask you to bring the sides? It was just a big platter with a little chicken patty on it – no sides. Is that not obvious? The waitress was somewhat apologetic but it was like matter of fact apology, like she had said it all day long. Like a robot. She should have taken the initiative to make things better, and asked a few questions. While things may not have been her fault, she should have had some initiative to ask. Which makes us have conversations about work ethic, generational changes at how people look at things now versus YesterYear! I will never want to go back there again! And that’s so said. O Charlies had been a favorite of mine for a long time.
I’m so glad that the weekend is here. Today I’m going to get a few things done, not rush myself so much, try to prioritize the important stuff, and try to get some stuff done for Mom, and some stuff done for me. Next Saturday we’ll be busy so I need to really try and enjoy being home today.
Hope you enjoy the video. Here’s the link again. It was fun filming and editing it and truly a labor of love! Watch it HERE. I’m late getting the link out this morning as we slept in a bit, took dogs out, did a Bible lesson and so getting up later made the timing difference. Hope you have a great weekend! What ya gonna do? Love hearing from you.

I had a similar experience at one of my favorite restaurants in South Dakota. So frustrating! We won’t be going back. I loved your video!! I had to pause it halfway through because I had to bake a cake to take to a party today, but I’m looking forward to watching the rest of it with my coffee tomorrow morning. I can see how some people would prefer shorter videos due to time constraints, but I love the long ones! I truly look forward to them every Saturday morning!

Thanks as always for that great Vlog. You are getting better and better it looks to me almost every week. I can hardly wait till you retire and see what you get up to !And not forgetting George and is daft antics….i do like your new lace look curtain, (over here we would normally have it fully covering the window). Sorry to be so late getting this comment to you I have had a nice weekend. We had a wedding ceremony at church on Saturday it was wonderful its many many years since we had a wedding in church so it was especially lovely.Joy and Paul are relatively new Christians joining our Methodist church about 21/2 years ago and are so good. We are predominantly an older congregation so it’s been great having some younger blood in church who are active in helping etc. Joy helps me in the kitchen making tea after the service. Yesterday was of course Sunday so after church we were out for Sunday lunch with my niece Beth and Max they are going to Paris next Sunday for a few days so are excited about that,we look forward to sharing it with them as they always send us lots of photos every day. Hope this week goes quickly for you. ( my friend Peter retires on Friday so we are looking forward to having him around to drive us around whenever we need it). Bye for now God Bless
