Thursday’s Appendectomy

Well, it wasn’t how I planned to end the day Thursday. About 3:30 I began to feel bad around my belly button- like something wasn’t agreeing with me. It continued to aggravate me. Once home I realized it was pain radiating from the right of my belly button and a tad lower. I could not get comfortable and found no resolve.

I was pretty certain it was going to be my appendix. Or worse. I packed a small bag and apologized to George for the evening we were about to have- hours of tired waiting in ER. We left for TriStar Summit about 8:30 p.m.

We spent the night waiting but everyone was so nice. The doctor ordered the imaging.

Then their system went down because of maintenance. It was about 3 in the morning when doc came in and said it was appendicitis. And it would be removed next day.

It all happened so fast but then not really. My appendix has been flared on occasion and I had told George one day it would go! But I never attributed the pain to be confused with diverticulitis pain.

I began having the “diverticulitis pain” while this was going on and I realized this was my appendix sending pain (nerves) across my abdomen.

So hopefully my problem is solved.

I immediately felt relieved upon awakening from surgery.,

So they are keeping me tonight, my white count is up, they are giving antibiotics, doing therapy for getting around, and making sure I can eat. I couldn’t eat lunch because it made me nauseous but I’m looking forward to dinner.

I sent George home. He has a knee injury lingering from pickle ball but he has been by my side other than a quick trip home to take dogs out and give them breakfast.

He was relieved to be going home I think. And I am fine and going to sleep, watch tv, blog, vlog, maybe read, play computer games. I’m set! Then he can be comfortable at home and won’t have to eat cafeteria food and sit and sleep in a chair.

He was there for me during the scary times. And I appreciated it. So that was gift in return.

Tomorrow I’ll get to get home probably. But I’m ok in the meantime with rest and getting served meals in bed and watching TV lol. I’m on vacay now! lol 😂

So glad your stomach issues might finally be resolved. Now you can eat what you want without any worry that you will be in pain. Enjoy the rest and let George spoil you when you get home.

I’m glad you went to get checked out and even more glad that it was not anything worse! But I know very painful. Maybe now you will be able to enjoy life again! It’s been a long year so far for you and we are just in March. So take the time to be waited on and rest, rest and more rest!

Thank you Rose. I kept that same feeling knowing something was going to give eventually. I hope this was the problem since October and think it is as the pain was the same. But this time it didn’t settle down. Thanks for popping in!
