On the Search for Happiness

With our crazy little life since April, (moving Mom to assisted living, estate sale, someone in the family being horribly mean to me, dealing with Mom and all her wants and desires while being the only sibling willing to do it, handling difficulties at home, and getting Mom’s house ready to sell) it has left me completely dry and spent and at times unhappy. Oops did I forget YouTube which takes a lot of my week too? I have really worked at trying to at least be content, stay grounded in the Lord, and keep everything going everywhere. I did have to give up my Magi packing to be sane and I cut back on World Bible School adoptions, many days I had to give up the Walk Pad, give up reading and most of my hobbies and projects, and sometimes housework.

I am happy to say that I kept YouTube going and even found a few new viewers who wanted to watch the process. And you can see in the videos very clearly the days I have had rest and the days I have not. But every week after Mom’s move, we continued to say “We are about to get our life back” and then we do not.

Things have calmed down with Mom, however, she will always continue to want something. Last week it was Moo Moo dresses and bras and white surge protectors b/c she didn’t like the black ones I bought that met code.

But this week, I have been really trying to find ways to be content and “find my happy”. What I really want is to leave this all behind and go find adventure, solitude, be left alone for a while, rest, explore, worship. But I’m a responsible person so I stay to all that I’m committed to. And all the while, this week, try to find my happy. It’s not a perfect happy. But maybe it’s a contented happy. We are still looking, but we will say we found it with just being content! Easier days will come, and this week truly has been lighter. I haven’t even vlogged this week as I had two to do last week due to sponsorship, and so while last week was crazy, this week has been nice to catch up some. I’m still way behind where I want to be and we are about to go into our busy season. So content will have to do. And honestly content is good enough and kindof a nice state to be in. 😉
