What they don’t tell you about Estate Sales + Update

Oh yeah, they don’t tell you THIS about estate sales. You don’t get the whole story. ha. You can watch today’s vlog here.

Hope everyone is doing ok this morning. A typical Saturday here for me. Normal morning routines of devo, laundry, lotsa coffee, taking care of doggies, YouTube promotion this morning now that vlog is live.

I’ll be doing my walk pad, doing some ironing today (a few things need pressing), a bit of house work, weighing myself (ugh), hair trim, wrapping George’s birthday gifts, planning next week, doing a Target order, editing a video for a sponsor ship, checking on Mom and George wants to get a pre-birthday dinner outing to Hardee’s (lol – he celebrates the weekend before, the day of, and the weekend after with special meals).

And I suppose I will check on Mom later in the day to make sure she is feeling better. She has had an infection that she is taking antibiotics for.

Yesterday she called me to tell me “how awful this place is” because her culture had not come back yet. (It often takes 2-3 day to get a culture back when it’s sent off to a lab. I remember it taking that long even at her urologist). The nurse had told Mom I could call her or take her to outside clinic if she did not want to wait. So I talked with Mom again and asked her if she wanted to go to a walk in clinic but it would have to be later in the day because I was already busy handling other things for her that morning by meeting with the realtor. So she decided to wait it out. Followed by “this place is awful”. The place is not awful. She just likes to complain when other people’s systems are not on her time frame. She raised me to be the same way, if you cannot tell. I also like it when the world operates on my schedule. lol. I guess the difference in me and in her, is that I’m usually able to realize what a system is. I usually get upset when people don’t follow the system. I reserve it to hold people accountable. I point out the discrepancies, lol. She just becomes unhappy with the whole lot, including those trying to help her.

Anyway, we did sign the rest of the papers and go over the comps with the realtor and we both came to the same conclusion for the asking price based on other things selling in the area. The house will be listed as of next Thursday. 😉

But we went away from the realtor meeting with a lot more to do. The electrician I wanted to go ahead and hire and have it done, George had said to wait and sell as is. But the realtor thinks it best to go ahead and have it done right away and we can amend the agreement to show it has been fixed so as not to give the buyer any reason to choose another property. We also have been asked to paint the area where Mom had inappropriately used some kind of adhesive to hang a picture and it tore the sheet rock. So now we have to paint patch that area. We will work on that next week.

I also had a lot of things to look up, find out, and send back to our realtor. And we had to sign a lot of things by email and I scanned some other documents back over to her and emailed those. So a big afternoon yesterday of being in my office. I also had to transfer footage for two videos over and need to edit one of those today so I can get it back to a sponsor for approval. I’m a little worried about it. If I don’t like the footage we may have to reshoot it. But I think we have it. I will just feel better when that is done/approved.

So there ya have it. I am considering taking a break this week from vlogging since we have the extra video in our back pocket. But then I may just vlog anyway. I will see how I feel the next couple of days.

I have been computer weary the last few days – just being burned out from working in my office so much and having so many irons in the fire and so many little things to follow up on. I didn’t even have time this past week to go take care of the insurance documents to fight my appeal. My first available day is Tuesday. So we have an appointment then. Monday we have work to do at Mom’s and also meeting Christina (mom’s cleaning lady) there to pick up some furniture.

Next week we have our work cut out for us as well. Getting Mom’s house ready for sale, taking care care of my insurance, having people come pick up furniture, getting the electrical people in there, painting those problem areas, taking Mom to buy bras b/c hers are too big now and she needs more since her weight loss.

I was not planning to have to do those extra things for the house but it looks like we will have another week consumed of our time. George’s birthday is Wednesday so we’ll be gone then too, plus the bra shopping day, so nearly every day is taken up next week.

Every week I keep thinking that “this will be the week” we get our life back and every week I’m wrong. But that is ok. God sees. So we will limp along next week too and maybe the week after that we will see some sort of relief?

Here’s the vlog link again if you read this far —> You can watch it here.

It’s interesting learning about how the estate sale went. I even thought about when My husband and I downsize or pass on what in the world will our Daughter will do with all our stuff! After 25 years of living in this house we have every room filled.
Happy Birthday to your George. You two guys have had so much going on, it’s time for you two to have some fun.

Oh and thanks for George’s birthday wishes. We have a big day out planned and it’s a surprise for me. But we have “birthday week” which includes the weekend before and after. So he wanted Hardee’s for dinner. We were the only people there on a Saturday night lol 😂

It makes my day when I hear from you...
