Life Lately…An Update

Well I don’t know how much grace is involved, but we definitely manage the to do list, one way or the other. LOL!
I am happy to inform you that I am blissfully blogging today. And in a much better space. Finally things are looking up a bit. Shall we tackle them by subject?
Insurance. This one was most concerning. But I have been approved by Healthcare.gov and have signed up for a plan that will keep us from losing our butts. The insurance is expensive and basically covers nothing but the max out of pocket is 10,000 so again, we won’t lose our butts but we’ll basically pay for everything between zero and that. I was appalled. I cried. I was denied health care because of a test I took last year just being proactive but it smacked me in the face. Our broker was trying to fix it she said, but I’ve not heard from her in days so….(I’d love to hear why but I’ve decided for now to let it go). W had already taken matter in our own hands as I was not getting good communication and had lost my faith so, bottom line, I’m covered. And the broker only got me set up for dental and didn’t have a problem with that one. And life can go on. I’m signed on to both websites and printed cards. Only the dental insurance called me SOYNA (a soybean product?) instead of SONYA, so I’m having to get that fixed. That wasn’t on me but let me guess who entered that wrong? lol
Mom’s House and Estate Sale. We have finished going through the house and I’m so happy to say we have some time back at home. Thank you Lord! The sale person comes to see the “stuff” Friday and we have a tentative date set for later this month.
Mom. Mom is doing ok. She hasn’t felt the greatest, saying she is winded more than she had been and because of that wanting to do the TAVR procedure. I’ve been working with Centennial on that (see below). She continues to ask for a few things daily. I suspect that this will go on for a while. It honestly never stops so that’s kinda normal. Every day I have some type of Amazon order to do or bringing a couple more items from the house but it’s getting too late for that now. If she asked for stuff we might not even know where to find it at this point and once the estate people get in there and see the stuff they will expect the things to be there for the sale as they inventory and price things.
Mom’s TAVR Procedure. The procedure is tentatively scheduled but the lady is supposed to send instructions once she is sure that the dates are set in stone. It involves a team of people and it’s difficult to get their schedules to coordinate, so I’m not even going to say right now when the procedure is, b/c it’s already changed once so, we’ll see. We have to do a pre-op appointment a week before the procedure. And then Mom could change her mind again, it’s flip flopped so many times my head is spinning. But I just go with the flow. You know. What else can you do? It’s not my decision so I just grasp whatever is handed to me for the day.
July Calendar. Our calendar is filling up for July. We meet the estate sale people this week and have a 4th of July dinner to go to. Mom’s assessment is next Tuesday. They discuss her level of care. We have a concert and dinner we are going to. And we have Mom’s pre-op appointment and TAVR procedure and likely a 2 night stay in hospital, and George and I have a little day long excursion we want to go to. We have Mom’s birthday and the estate sale. So how’s that for a busy July?
House repairs. Well not much has changed but the garage door parts are ordered. It takes 3 weeks to get in the parts? Geez. I bought store bought ice for the ice maker problem so at least I have ice. As the for gutters, well, I’ve been told that is still in the line up. This makes me nervous. I expect that we will have bathroom damage repairs to have to fix before the gutters are seen to and perhaps other parts of the house if we can’t get this water situation contained. Water is water. Do we need to discuss how fluid water is? lol. The problem is not going to fix itself and it’s not going to get better so every time it rains it makes me nervous. I love the rain but I’m scared for what damage it will do. We have rain chances 50 to 60% for the next week. All I can do is make the request but George handles the finances. And he is not going to do it until he’s ready. Oh sure I have access to get it done but I would never spend that much money unless we agreed to do it together. So this is still pending.
I’ve enjoyed the day off today with no where to be. I’m so happy to be home and catching up on things. I did laundry, cleaned the kitchen, put up the dog food orders from Amazon, did NOT have a load of phone calls, computer work for Mom or myself to do – yay! I vacuumed the whole house, and mopped the floors and it smells so good and minty clean. I walked on my walk-pad and I did Tai Chi today and it really felt good to slowly move my body. I think I really am enjoying the Tai Chi more than I thought now that I have a good trainer on YouTube. I’ve also made some headway with my To Do List today and was happy not to roll over 1/2 my list like I usually have to do. Yay.
I think July will be difficult b/c of all the appointments in Nashville and hospital stays, but other than that hopefully it will just be bursts of activity here and there and not a constant pace like we had to do to try to get the stuff done at her house and go through all of that. I’m so glad that is over.
I did pay some bills today for Mom though and dust and cleaned my office so that was good. It’s 5:08 now so I think I may get a glass of wine and chill. Everytime I am ready to chill and watch YouTube George is watching World Cup soccer. It’s amazing how we decide to do EVERYTHING at the same time. Even today I was starting to strip down for my shower and heard him turn the shower on. lol So I just did something else til he was through. Anyway, I can come back here and watch YouTube on my computer so I do that. Or I will read or play a computer game til he offers up the TV, lol. He should be glad he married someone that is flexible. I’m flexible…..til I decide I’m not.

I use AirPods for watching tv/youtube when the tv is being used by others. Praying for you with all that’s going on in your life. A glass of wine sounds absolutely wonderful. Nice way to relax!

The broker is appealing the denial so we will see if it can be overturned and I can get better coverage but at least I have catastrophic coverage but pretty much have to pay anything up to 9000, this year on my own.

Hello. I am glad everything is calming down now. Would you share which YouTube Tai Chi trainer you watch. I am interested in starting a program at home. Thanks.

Thanks me too. It’s “Begin with Breath Tai Chi with Adam Potts.”
He is a very good teacher and easy to follow! I’m learning that tai chi is good for joints and the movement really unstiffens you and it’s so graceful.
