Mid Week Update, Fall Plans, etc.

Finished the puzzle. Finally. It took all summer to work a summer puzzle. There will not be another until I retire. It’s too much pressure to stop and have some fun in the grind, lol. Just kidding but kinda not really. Fall is very busy for us. Life perks up and we are on the go more, shopping more, traveling more, planning more, and we have a lot going on already.
Work going ok I guess. Counting the days. I think it’s like 16 more weeks after this week, 75 actual work days (due to PTO, weekends, holidays), 15 more payroll closings, 4 more month end tax paying, and 1 more quarter end. The light is peering in from the end of the tunnel.
Got a lot done in the house on my Friday PTO day last week. It was a much needed break. I was able to spread the laundry out over 3 days instead of 2. I had time to vacuum. I obviously had time to finish the puzzle, had time to work on my office which was driving me crazy. Still to completely through as I did not get the filing done.
I have earned $100 bucks this week with YouTube’s partner program. Not bad for a week huh? Check won’t come until next month. But I am happy to say that I (with God’s help) have managed to reach the goal of being able to supplement our income some while retiring early. Maybe I can get that camera after all that I want, for better vlogging. ;-).
We will be going back to TX in March of next year for grandson Trace’s 1st birthday party. We went to River’s, and we want to go to his. So already marking that one in.
We talked about our Hot Spring stopover on a trip we are taking later this year. We are going to do a “bath” there, this time I think in the mineral waters. Only it will put us later getting into TX, but that is fine, we will just be in after dinner instead of before that first day. I think we are going to do that anyway. We began talking about what restaurants to eat at there. Definitely going to the Filling Station.
George and I are going to the Grand Ole Opry upcoming. We have free tickets for that. We are excited. Feels like old times when we got to go to concerts all the time. George has also been invited some to go to Vanderbilt games with our neighbor when his family cannot go and George loves it. He graduated from Vanderbilt.
I’m excited about another 3 day weekend this weekend. I am decorating for fall this weekend and filming it so it’ll be a film day Saturday.
I ate a hamburger Sunday and two hours later I was nearly doubled over. I ate prime rib last night and nothing happened. I’m so confused. After this week I’m not tracking anymore. I think I’ve tracked for two months now. I mainly did not have too many issues. I had some “light” pain here and there and a lot more pain after the burger. But I will review my tracking and come up with my findings but I can tell you that it is basically going to be this: Leaky gut syndrome. And the more things you do to heal it, helps you tolerate the occasional bad things. The more bad things you eat, the less you will be able to tolerate those bad things over time. That’s probably going to be my findings.
I’m almost writing in bullet points, here. I do that when 1) I’m tired and 2) My mind is all over the place. I guess both are taking place.
Sleep has been hard. I need to be in bed 9 to 10 hours to get a full 8 hours of restful sleep. That ain’t happening. So I’ll just have to wing it til late December.
Well just a weekly check in while my YT video uploads. It’s at 86%. I got it edited pretty quick this week because I had some time Sunday night to get started on it. Mom and I got our nails done Monday and I finished it yesterday, so I can do other things this week. I need to make a thumbnail but that won’t take long and I can easily do that one night this week. End of Summer Vibes video posts Saturday. Then the next one is Cleaning the House while working Full Time, which someone suggested from the Less Hustle More Coffee Community.
Yes I’m open for vlog ideas and will try to cover what I can. I have some more “doing xyz videos while working FT” coming as well as I have to cover those by end of year, for sure. Then all the retirement videos kick in, lol. ;-). I am going to do one on my career – an extra mid week video after I retire, just looking back.
Well I gotta go. It’s time for me to get ready and head South for work. Ya’ll have a grand week.

I’m so glad your counting down to the BIG DAY….its going to be such a lovely Christmas for you this year…..I wonder how many hours sleep you are goingto have/ need once you do retire. I’m lucky I that I usually get to sleep around10.30/11pm. And am always awake by 5 am which is 6 hours max. Today for some reason though I’ve been tired and actually did drop off for half a hour ….think it’s cause it’s a bit humid today….Take care. Night night.

My guess is I’ll stay up til 10 and get up around 6:30. I figure I’ll probably get 7.5 hours of sleep since the body likes to sleep in 1.5 hour cycles. If you wake up in the middle of a cycle you stay sleepy all day.

I’ve watched just a few of the older videos . I’m curious about George’s musical history and tastes and I figure you are a coffee person so I like to hear about coffee preferences and rituals. I’ve been to the Ryman and guess that is where the Opry is. It was great to be in a place with so much history. I am plotting dates of retirement and watching videos it would be interesting to see how you planned and analyzed. One video was about timing of your retirement based on work bonuses and benefits, changing 401k to reduce your income to change your taxes. How to manage healthcare until 65. Some is over my head, but enlightening

George has played guitars since a young age and listened to music due to older cousins introducing him to their albums and records. He’s been in a few bands. He worked at Gibson in purchasing for 30 years. And so we’ve been in and around the music scene here in Nashville. He loves everything but opera and rap. lol
George is a very good financial analyst person. We did Dave Ramsey and also had a really good financial advisor to help us.

Maybe you were not reacting to the hamburger, but something that was on it. I love and eat lots of onions, but once in a while about 3 to 4 hours later the pain is so bad I am thinking I am am having a heart attack and it is actually heartburn and gas as a result of the onions. I just take and Alka Seltzer and it goes away in 2 to 3 minutes. Check the items on the burger for the pain.

Hi, Sonya it’s Dee your twin in N. Ga. I don’t comment on you tube , just Facebook and here. It showed me as anonymous above. I had an old blog with a hundred plus followers. Maybe I can get that to show here. My old blog name was PJ Geek..I had no idea the band Pearl Jam’s die-hard fans were called that. I just really like cozy, cute p.j.s…I blush to think of all the Pearl Jam fans that googled Pj Geek and found my blog which focused on pj’s, coffee, weight loss and emotional healing. ……. I went back to watch some videos to where George retired and watched through Christmas..I always like to read about other people’s autumn and Christmas. I’ll need to back and do Autumn. I had to laugh because I got a Vera Bradley Sloth weekender bag for Christmas. I also noticed we have the same pink and grey pj’s that you have. Your work office building reminds me of one of my office based jobs where I had a long commute also. you’ll get through these next few months, girl! I promise. You were just shy of 300 subscribers with the last video and look at you now, over 3k. I think you could mention to your new subscribers that if they go back to watch old videos they can also hit likes on those and it will help your analytics….. I am a nerd about yearly planners , the wire bound monthly weekly versions and have begun my search. It took me a month to choose my new Bible, so it will be a long search. I have doc appointments already for 2025 that I need to plot out. I wondered if you used a paper one but then saw your calendar on your computer. Impressive but above my skill level. Hope you have a great weekend coming up.

So good to hear from you again Dee, my twin sister lol. LOL on the Pearl Jam band! I I use a paper, wire bound planner that has both monthly and weekly sections. The weekly is for appointments and the monthly I use for my YouTube schedule (filming- going live – and planning). But I also use Notion for making lists which has worked great. I use the iPhone reminder app for daily to do’s and it’s great for day specific items and repeating things as well like taking vitamins. Plus you add tags which allows for regrouping like “shopping” if I’m out I can search for the tag and it’ll bring it all up for shopping I had scheduled on all the days then I can do it all while out. It is the most perfect to do app for me.
I use YouVersion app for my bible most of the time since I’m gone all the time. But I have a Bible I picked out – a leather bound one that I love and bought the highlighters and tab separators and love it too. I read it from cover to cover and then started it backwards lol 😂
