Tick Bites, Texas Family, and Amazon Prime Shopping

Tick Bite

OK, here’s your AI generated cartoon tick holding a glass of his favorite “red”, lol. Yes, I had a tick bite two days ago. Ugh. Apparently it had been there a while. I guess it jumped on me while walking the dogs – most likely while walking through the back yard next to the woods. Fortunately, George had some topical antibiotic cream from when he had his bad bite. I’m not sure the above looks like a tick but it’ll do, lol. Very close to what I had pictured. Amazing what AI can do. Really is kinda scary. I find myself turning to AI to ask questions. Like what vitamins I should take together and at what time of day. It put a schedule together for me and that way I didn’t have to do all the research on my own about what/when can be taken together and what works with food and without food etc. But hopefully nothing will come from the tick bite.

If you have read the blog, or watched the vlog, you know I’ve been going through a little rough patch – both physically and mentally. Although I feel I have been fairly strong through all of the recurrent tummy issues and life grinding schedule, I still feel like a sinking ship at times. I try hard to adjust the sails and keep going. I do feel a bit better in recent days.

Texas Family

My Texas family got to go on a little business retreat to San Antonio. Little Roo got to sleep in his own big person bed. He was really good. And this week Little Toot had his 3 month check up and got the green light to start eating oatmeal and baby food.

The pics gave me a good laugh. The pictures portrayed it perfectly. We got videos too. From unsure and confused to positively elated! Can’t help but notice a lot of it was on the bib! lol. But he was getting the hang of it.

The Little Toot is about to have to go to day care with big brother for a bit. My daughter goes back to school on Monday to get ready for the school year. She said she had mixed feelings. She’s ready to get back into her job and seeing people and having a different routine, but she will miss the down time and being at home with these two. I think the work day gives her a break. Being a mother of two I think can be a bit challenging I hear. (I only had one child, so I personally don’t know.) But those that have had more than one say it’s challenging. River is hold enough to communicate and help and that is a huge help. Although he has been a challenge at times adjusting to having a little one in the house. He’s really grown up into the big brother this summer for sure.

Hot Days

My boss got a good laugh yesterday at me changing my desk top theme to snow scenes. It’s a common practice for me to do this in a hot summer. I think the theme was skiing. Works for me.

The quickest Dinner Ever

I added spinach because they hardly had any in the package. Just put in a non stick skillet for 10 – 12 minutes and it turns into this wonderful Italian dish. It’s perfect for two people if you have a salad with it and maybe Italian bread. We skipped the bread. I added a little olive oil since I had added additional spinach to cook down. It’s also perfect for one person who likes seconds, or for two separate meals. My goal is to keep one in the freezer at all times. We ate this yesterday as George had to be at the airport (20 to 30 min from the house) at 7:00 so we ate before he went. I stayed home and edited the video and got finished. And started the upload too. It’s still uploading at 58%. Our internet with Comcast Xfinity sucks. I am going to stir the pot after I retire. I asked George to please call them while I was at work since he’s home. I’m tired of dealing with them. At first he told me no because it didn’t bother him that the internet went out all the time. Then he said he would consider it. So I guess I will just have to wait to handle it when I retire and just put up with sub par service til then. I’m too tired to deal with it at 8 p.m. when we are trying to watch a show and it goes out. And I don’t have enough time to deal with it at 6:00 in the morning when it goes out during my little 30 minute window to get anything done. I guess it waned over night as even uploading all night the video is still 58%. Lucky me. Adding to life’s frustrations of many. These kinds of things make you feel so special, lol. As if life isn’t hard enough and then nothing works and you can’t get any help. You can’t just call Comcast – you have to go through a series of “help me’s” on the phone (can’t use the internet as it usually isn’t working at the time, lol). It’s time consuming and that’s why I asked George if he would do it since I’ve done it all the other times. But I guess he doesn’t want to – even when asked – so I guess I’ll add that to the things to do after retirement.

Amazon Prime Day

Did you order anything from Amazon yet? I think you still have today. I ordered something special! It’s going to help me in a big way. It’s a walking pad. I got the one with the side bar grips. It was $100 more but at my age I don’t need to be going “gripless”. lol. I never wanted one of those big treadmills but this is a foldable walking pad. I plan to keep it in front of my closet door most of the time set up. I rarely get into that closet, but I can step around it if needed. At least that is where I think it will go. I can move some things around if needed. It can also be used under a desk but I don’t think I’m that coordinated. But I intend on watching a show or possibly reading. You can bet I’ll be multitasking in some way. I told my boss this and she thought I was buying it for work since it was under the desk. But no it’s for home. I can’t imagine the boldness of having one of these at your work place. No wonder she said “you have got to be kidding me”. I thought she was shocked that I was wanting to exercise, lol. I’m excited because I need to do something NOW and I won’t walk in the heat and I won’t take time away from doing other things.

Yes, I will be doing a video on it. lol.

Ok gotta go to work. We have a funeral visitation to go to tomorrow night and also plan to go get Pho afterwards. We also have Mom’s birthday Friday night. And another birthday party in Gallatin by the lake on Saturday night. Sunday is our Life group. Usually when we are this busy, I get stressed, and then the fever and pain comes back so let’s hope that does not occur. I’m so weird. But the busier we are the worse I feel. That seems to be the norm anyway. I don’t think that is anything new. I’ve kinda been that way since my 40’s. Now in the late 50’s and 60’s we just add tummy pains to that and IBS, lol.

I had some tummy pain (just a bit) yesterday but it was nothing significant. It went away without any trouble. So I wrote it in my chart. I am gathering data and will begin to go back and notice trends over time. I won’t speculate as to what I think it is yet. But hopefully time will tell.

Ok over and out.
