Summertime Weekend Snapshots!

The wildflowers are blooming.

This plant developed its plumes! Like overnight almost! Once the heat starts it takes off and it will be so pretty in the fall.
We went to Houston’s and I got a burger. It was messy but oh so good. I know, I didn’t need it, but we went on an empty stomach.

George bought some blackberries at the farmers market. Also he bought some homegrown tomatoes, not shown.
Fresh mint from the yard.

He made us an afternoon refresher drink.
We bought steak and potato at Houston’s and had that for dinner. Not shown, but it was good. Sunday was busy with church and Sunday school. After church we took Mom her car after getting her $1200 brakes fixed in the days before, and getting her mail, and making some mobile deposits for her with the tax rebate checks that finally came in. It wasn’t much of a reimbursement to have jumped through the hoops with all the trouble we went to. I thought she got like 1/2 to 3/4 of it back but it was only like $400 total of the thousands she had to pay. Oh well. I feel like someone needed to pay me that much to lose a Saturday to do all the paperwork and the days I spent to make all the phone calls and ask questions, and the follow ups when the checks didn’t come, and time getting all the documents together and then copied and sent off. My gosh.
We had to go to Publix to get dessert for our life group. I only got 4th of July decorated brownies because after I said I would bring dessert on the text thread, someone else said they were bringing dessert too. So I thought the brownies would be a nice holiday touch but the other person didn’t bring the dessert so I wished I’d gotten a bigger dessert or a 2nd one at least. It’s a gamble I guess. Next time I’ll just do what I originally was gonna do and not let anything sway me. But the lunch at life group was excellent and I enjoyed being with everyone.
The decor was beautiful. Look at these colors.

After this, I had to finish up the laundry, do some ironing, pay Mom’s bills for the week, and get the video files ready for the next one.
It’s going to be a very busy week this week, both at home and at work. I DID spend some time yesterday planning the week out, while George drove us home. I did not have time to vacuum, did not have time to change my purse, and about 20 other things I really wanted to do this weekend. Trying not to be frustrated. The holiday is going to be busy, not much of a day “off” to relax. It’ll be fun but I’m going to the grocery Tuesday night after work, and editing videos. One Wednesday night I’ll be working on the potato salad and boiling eggs for the dressed eggs, and editing videos. Thursday I’ll finish making everything else, George is grilling and taking our nephew to the airport after he drops his car here. (Glad we got Mom’s car back to her so we have room.) I’ll go take Mom back and forth on July 4. Then we will clean up and pack leftovers, maybe watch some fireworks because the noise will keep me up anyway. Then I have to be at work Friday and the video is due Saturday at 7 a.m. so sometime in there will have to get that done and do the thumbnail. So yeah, very far from a relaxing week. I will enjoy it, it’s just gonna be busy. And at work it’s quarter end. So probably not another blog post from me this week, unless I’m magically gifted some time on a platter to work with.
Meanwhile in Texas

Look at this Little Cowboy (Little Toot)! He is wearing his big brother’s clothes. He’s smiling and also imitating his mother’s laugh.

Little Roo got a new toy, a hunting set, like his Dad’s. Remember, he’s a Texas boy on a ranch. Wild pigs are the usual wildlife management controlled animal for the ranch as they damage so much. It’s actually part of his Dad’s job.
Everyone have a great 4th! Are you doing burgers and dogs? I know you don’t celebrate there in the UK but it won’t hurt our feelings if you also have hamburger and hot dogs, and celebrate with us? I mean after all, don’t we all do Cinco de Mayo with tacos and margaritas? lol
Have a lovely week everyone.

As it’s Thursday it’s Peter’s day for making dinner so no idea what we will be having but certainly don’t think it will be burgers etc…sorry…..
The boys are growing so fast aren’t they ? We find it very strange to see kids with guns over here, and at first glance I coudnt think what he was holding but as you say it’s nothing unusual on the farm ….Well it’s almost 2am over here I’ve been asleep 3 hours but woke up and coudnt get back to sleep so I’m going to try again now. Think you might just be going to bed ? If you are it’s Night night. God Bless from me…💤💤💤😴😴😴❤️❤️
