Winnebago Minnie, Hair Cuts, Hair Styles, and Strawberry Walnut Chicken Salad

Here’s a phone screen shot of the Micro Minnie! This is what I’ve been calling the Minnie Winnie, although if you google Minnie Winnie you get a different pic entirely. So I figure I could probably drive and haul something like this. I’m not sure though about the hitches. Is this something a woman can do? lol I need to be able to do all this stuff myself and to learn to be able to fix things. I’m not sure George is on board so I have to be able to do it on my own. I also would most likely buy used, but who knows. By the time I want to buy one maybe this “pandemic RV boom” will be over and there will be some on the market as people come off the road and begin to live their lives again. To me, living my life, would be traveling and on the road seeing places. But I want a home base as there is too much stuff I would not want to part with. I’m ok with smaller trips and weekend jaunts for George’s sake. But I do want to do some long hauls out west and the Florida keys, and places like Jackson Hole, and Lake Tahoe, and – wherever we can think of we want to go that interests us. But I’m posting this because yesterday I signed up for the Winnebago website for emails and information. I figure I should learn about them and their packaging and know what the options are and styles and such so I know what I want. ;-). I can start planning ahead.

My Hair Cut and Let’s Talk about Hair Styles

Yesterday’s “appointment” was getting my hair cut. It had been so long. It felt so good to have someone play with my hair. She did a wet cut first, then washed it, and dried and styled it. As most hairstylists do, she laughed at my attempt to cut my own during the pandemic but she was rescuing me from myself and fixing it. lol I reminded her I did get some compliments and got the closest to the hairstyle I wanted more than any stylist could but that no, it was not a scientific cut by any means and both sides of the head was different, lol. I told her I was also tired of my own cut, lol. I could not cut the back so I had to let it just grow. But she cut and carved and cut and carved. She was very nice and we talked the first half and was quiet the second half. I debated whether to set another appointment or not b/c if you set it you feel committed to a stylist and it’s hard “to break it off” later. But I was very happy with the experience and my hair grows pretty fast, so I set an 8 week appointment. At some point I may go 12 because some times it is good to let it grow out some and then go back for a good fresh cut and style, whereas every 6 to 8 weeks it gets too feathery and choppy for my liking.

I told you yesterday I believe or certainly a recent entry – I always come out with feathers, lol. And yesterday was no exception, but at least it’s long feathers here, lol. It is quite nice the way she styled it. I liked it very much. I know that I will not spend the time to make it that nice. I’ll dry/style quickly and go. Please excuse my no make up pandemic face below.

AFTER Looks the Same in Front

They way she cut it is more versatile than I imagined, because this morning I noticed that when it dried it was wavy and curly and I could put moose in it and just go. But I can style and make it straight or curly or choppy or not choppy. The front was a little longer than I wanted but it works with this style. I can always chop it off later if wanted, lol. And I can make it look more like a Meg Ryan cut at that point if I do. Mine right now is shorter in the back and longer in the front, which is something I have not really liked as a style, but it seemed to work on me the way she did it. Phone screen shots below:

This is the pic I showed her I really liked. But I don’t think we made it there yet. lol

So I may be able to get close to this look if I don’t feather it back. But we’ll try again next time.

She did however, cut it very similar to this.

And this but she put a few more layers and texturizing because my hair is so thick. That’s the reason I end up with more feathers lol and way more layers than I intended. She did cut the bottom more like this below.

So yes, I may sound picky, but it’s just a goal or a target. And they all get really close! I am happy with it though! She did a great job! And it’s always fun to keep trying til we hit the bulls eye. I’m going to enjoy playing with it the next few days. All in all, it doesn’t matter what cut you get. Within a couple of weeks it goes back to the shape it always does, LOL.

Here’s a pic of my hair in in college. This was a charcoal drawing my Mom had done and it’s in her Gone With the Wind room, which is fitting. I am a free spirit for sure. I guess this was the Farah Faucet days. I always liked having flipped up curls going down the back of my head. This is the look my hair was growing out into but I do NOT like it long anymore. It’s just not for me.

Anyway! I’m out of here. I have a dental appointment and need to dress and get ready and leave in an hour.

Getting all my appointments in before quarter end hits. Can’t do much of anything in April as far as appointments as I need all the time I can on both ends of the work day.

Strawberry Walnut Chicken Salad

I’m fixing my own version of this salad tonight as I want George to experience this Strawberry Walnut salad: I have chicken marinating in garlic, soy, honey, pepper flakes, and olive oil. I will add the strawberries, blue cheese, bacon, walnuts, and cranberries and balsamic glaze on top. I’m looking forward to cooking this up and sharing this with him tonight. It was so good. I guess I need to remember to make up a little balsamic dressing. Can’t forget that part. But I’ll pour the balsamic glaze over the chicken though. The glaze is a little thicker and lingers moreso than the vinegar itself.

Better go! Ya’ll have a good day! I have just enough time to get going. Boy these days sure go by fast. So much to do and I don’t get to work on my to do list much. It’s just been busy! Thinking about taking a vacation day just to give me some wiggle room to catch up. But I’m afraid I’ll need the days later. Then there could be some surprise days Mom might need me for so it’s hard to plan. Or I can plan them and just work a Saturday in it’s place or something, I guess it will all work out but planning PTO is on the to do list too! I can’t ever get there! lol.

Weekend Trip, Weather Station, RV Dream, and Picking the next Hair Style

Didn’t get the daily blog in the last couple of days. Left early Friday morning to get to work early so I could leave early. When I go to see Mom it’s good to get out before traffic is horrible around Nashville. It was already bad enough. But honestly other than Franklin traffic on I-65 South where three lanes come down to two, the only bad traffic was near Columbia (Tennessee) where I guess everyone was getting off work from Saturn (auto plant) or other factories and offices. I’ve never seen such traffic there accept for Mule Day weekend. And that is not until April.

Before leaving work though I had a productive day there. I have been trying for two months to get boxes packed but quarter end, year end, vacation week, snow weeks, and two month ends, kept me from finishing. I managed a box here and there. When all was said and done I had 34 boxes of 2018 and 2019. Now I should have room hopefully for all the 2020 and 2021 records. Everyone keeps commenting about how boxed in my office gets. Teasingly I tell them “I know I’m getting a little claustrophobic back here. lol”. I had to tag each box and label it and also keep a sticker for myself on another sheet with the description. I will turn that in to the master book and scan a copy for myself so if we have to ask for a box back at any time I will have the tracking number. Pretty neat system. I got all 34 boxes labeled and logged and scanned for my records! I was also tired and used muscles I’d forgotten I had.

I felt like the Cat’s Meow by the time I got the project finished!

That said it still felt like forever til “getting off time”. I watched the clock, ready for my escape into the weekend! But once there at Mom’s we left to go eat dinner. Mom chose Ruby Tuesday’s (in Columbia, TN). She knows I love to eat there and like their salad bar. We were not sure they would actually have a salad bar in the COVID world. But they did! However, upon a quick glance it did NOT look like it had been maintained. It did not look inviting. It looked picked over. It looked tainted. It even had big huge chunks of lettuce and salad ingredients lying about. So we turned down the salad bar. I was disappointed but I was not eating off of that. I was thinking that at dinner time they should definitely have the salad bar refreshed and ready to go for the evening meal. After all there would be a rush. But…ummm…look around. There was no rush. There was hardly even anyone else there. Maybe two other tables one on each side of the building and one lonely guy at the bar, lol. There seemed to be only two people working the restaurant and the bar itself. The person seating people and what looked like a manager type woman that was waitressing and doing bar. And believe me there was no rush there either. lol. The woman was busy but also managed to have conversations and such with others. Meanwhile our food came out by some dude from the back in the kitchen. It was lukewarm. It had been sitting back there. Even the cheese on my baked potato had gelled. We had waited a long while – maybe 45 min for our food, which is not usually that long. Or maybe it is and we just never noticed as we had salad bar first usually. But we were both so hungry we didn’t want to complain b/c they would take our food away to heat it up or bring new! We didn’t want to have to wait another 20 to 45 minutes for either option so we ate lukewarm food. The food was good – just not hot like it should have been. I guess it sat back in the kitchen while the one waitress flit about having her conversations with everyone, lol. Grrr. I’m surprised Mom didn’t say something. But we just ate, knowing we would not be back, and making comments under our breath no wonder those other Ruby Tuesday restaurants closed and Mom said that is the reason I wanted to come here and go ahead and use up my gift card, lol. So I guess we’ve had our last Ruby Tuesday meal there in Columbia. I won’t go back now. Unless Mom hears that something has changed. That is so sad as it has good potential. It needs a revival of some sort. I guess the Pandemic steam rolled what was probably already a weak link.

At Mom’s I was quite impressed with her weather station! I mean OMGosh! How cute and pretty is that. My colors too! ha. I may have to check that out. Like I need one. I have all that in my phone and on laptops. But the display is nice with date, time, inside/outside temp, moon phase, humidity, and you can see if pressure is falling or rising, indicative of storm prediction and systems coming through. I love it. I looked them up on Amazon and there are several ones. There is one with a WiFi app. And that one was twice the price at $82. But that one would be the one I’d want, of course, LOL. The others were around $40’s on Amazon. I need it like a hole in my head but it would make a nice gift for someone! (Moi! lol).

Anyway at Moms I slept in the Gone with the Wind Bedroom. IF you follow me on Instagram you got a little bit of a scene with that in my stories there. (My instagram is in my side bar – if on laptop and and scroll down if on iPad or phone. But it is: @lesshustlemorecoffee)

Mom’s bathroom also is very colorful.

It’ll wake you up in the mornings, lol!

Little Roo has had some really good smiling pics lately. I love the fact that he is starting to show personality. They love to make him laugh. Laughter is a happy thing! He laughed a lot after his bath time.

He is just the cutest little thing. I just want to hold him so bad! It hurts my heart that I cannot be there to hold him and love on him. I miss him deeply! And can you believe he is already 2 months old! I get to see him in June! His Momma goes back to work soon after their spring break there. She is going to miss this little guy during the day, but I’ve done it and many of us have done it – having careers and babies at the same time. WE used to be told in life it couldn’t and shouldn’t be done. We are doing it and while it might not always be ideal, it does provide more opportunity in many cases. We all have to make decisions. And well, it’s hard to have a lifestyle you want if you both don’t work. It just depends on what the situation is and whether one spouse can carry the load or two of you. We always needed both of us to be able to afford everything. We had grandparents though to help with child care. Day care called ALL the time to come get Katy. That will be the hard part is having no one to help out. Of course even if we were there or they were here, we work too still. But he’s my little cutie pie and I miss him and I can’t wait each day to see pics and videos. His Momma is good to share with us or post on Instagram. I got Momma set up on her new tablet so she could see him too. I tried to copy and send videos to her but it didn’t work. So now she can see the instagram ones. Is he not a little ham? I could stare at this pic all day and smile!

I did get to love on Mom’s dog Fancy some. She is due for her grooming. But she came to see me and sat in my lap for a few minutes and also gave me a hug and let me pet her tummy. Then she wanted to go back to her Momma. I told her, teasing Momma, I was going to sneak her home with me as I didn’t have a dog and needed company, and asked her if she thought her momma would notice, lol. Fancy is on heart meds now and it took a LOT of fluid off of her and she is now able to move about more and has more energy.

Spring rains brought greener grass in these parts. This was Mom’s backyard. I love the “Texas Star” as I call it.

Mom fixed breakfast for us of eggs and bacon and biscuits. It was so good. And then we went out to run some errands: Lowe’s to get grass seed booster and Mom had a return. We went to get her car washed and we vacuumed it out. We went to Sally Beauty supply and she bought shampoo and nail polish. I bought also an OPI brand of polish for $12. I have never in my life spent that much on polish but after everyone says it stays on longer, I thought I’d try it since I’m not getting my French nails done anymore. I will do an occasional manicure though and polish when my nails get in horrible shape. But I’ll try to keep them up myself and save money.

We went to Dollar Store and I bought 4 tops! All were $12.50 each or under. They were good brands and poly/cotton blend that won’t shrink. And made well. So why not. Not ALL of their clothes are made well, but I’ve found sometimes you can pick up a good find there. I mean two of the shirts were Bobbie Brooks. That used to be a brand we loved when I was a young girl, and sold in the dress shops as a high quality find. After we did all that we finally decided we were about ready for lunch. This time we picked Legend’s. Oh my gosh it has been renovated and it’s the bees knees now! I failed on getting proper pics on this restaurant. I find when I with Mom I’m less likely to be focused on taking pics and focusing on her needs. I was driving, parking, locking the car, making sure she sees steps, opening doors – all that is normally when I’m taking pics! I did get a pic of our food. The food was excellent, the wait staff superb and very friendly. I got the strawberry walnut salad and oh my gosh it was perfect! I may have to recreate this salad at home with it’s grilled chicken, walnuts, dried cranberries, blue cheese, and real bacon bits and fresh strawberries!

I left mid afternoon to come back home. Mom seemed happy to have gotten out. Here’s her Facebook post I noticed later.

That said, Mom does not want the vaccine. And we still need to be careful. But life seems to be heading back to normal. I’m not thinking I want the vaccine either. I don’t want the chemicals in my body. I am wary of so many things about all of it. And I’m not so sure we haven’t already had it. I mean they said that the antibodies don’t stay long and of course the thing morphs so I guess people will have to be revaccinated again in the future. I quit getting the regular flu shot because I intake pure ingredients with the system I use that expel toxins from the body and when I get a vaccine it tries to get rid of the mercury and other elements that are not supposed to be in your body. I understand that certain things have to be in it for it to take and be absorbed. But I’m not sure this is for me. It may be that we have to get it at some point to be able to have access to things. I don’t think it is the mark of the beast as some do b/c it is not a matter of worship or making of a spiritual choice. But I was already not wanting the regular flu shot. So it’s not to say my mind won’t be changed at some point, or changed for me, as I age and become even more at risk, but for now I’m saying no.

Anyway, on the way home, I saw an RV place on Nashville Highway that has some Minnie Winnies. It was all I could do to NOT stop. So I didn’t stop. I was curious how much it was though.

Mom had told me at her house she didn’t see how I could tow an RV with the truck I wanted. I asked her if she had done her research before declaring such. She knows I don’t want a big truck. But I do want a Ford truck for my next vehicle and that is half way to getting my dream set up. I have not done the exact research but know of others that are able to tow a small RV as I watch them on YouTube do it every week. lol Anyway, here is my dream set up. Don’t tell me I can’t do something or I will surely do it. Don’t be messing with one’s dreams! That makes for a dangerous lot! I just picked a ford – any ford any year. I don’t have to have a new truck. I will want a dependable one. One with a sun roof so it doesn’t feel closed in and lets sun through, one that has the closure top in the back for storage (this bed looks shorter than I’d want I think) and the twin cab so others can ride.

And I then I want to get a Micro Minnie. It also does not have to be a new one. But I want to be able to get some extras such as lithium batteries and solar panels so I can dry camp some when needed. Will also have to get a Mac laptop at that point too, lol. Might as well include that in the package. So I can make the videos from all the travel.

I professed my love for this again to George last night. I told him I wanted to go out in loops after we retire- it didn’t have to be full time. He does not want to be cramped to live in a small space even for a time. He didn’t say “no” but he didn’t say “yes”. I told him I’d worked too many years not to be able to do something like this at retirement and buy a small RV. No argument there. I mean I have worked too since age 15. So we’ll see. When I told him how I wanted to go out west and listed the places, I actually cried when I said “and see the redwoods – I’ve never ever even seen redwoods”. I was shocked that I had tears start to fall. I began realizing this dream after watching people on YouTube and I have a deep driven desire to do this. I’ve tried to overcome it and deny it as it is not George’s dream. It’s mine. But we are a marriage and marriage is compromise. I don’t have to travel full time or sell a house. But I feel I’ve chosen a way that is manageable, affordable, and doable – and if ever we can get to the point of traveling and monetizing our videos, it will help on the funding of the travel so we can do more when we go. We can do long loops and come back home. We can do long weekends. We can go see Katy and Cody on the ranch. We can go to the Keys. We can go up the coast to Maine. We can go up the west coast and go to Canada. We can do loops and come back home! Or I can go and he can fly out and meet me when he feels like it. lol

But, I need to go. It’s Sunday but it’s my Saturday of sorts. I have to do laundry, clean my house, run errands and try to get something done on my list today and try to relax too. Yeah, big week ahead with appointments. And I’ve also got a hair appointment. I picked out my possible hair styles. I’m wanting to get a “shaped short and sassy cut” to match my short and sassy self, lol. And I’ll let it grow out again as I enjoyed all the different stages last time. While we sat around at Mom’s yesterday some, I picked out some short styles that I can show my hair stylist. Of course we all know that I will end up with the same Laura Bush cut I always do. But I’m changing hair stylists to see if I can’t get more of what I want. But I think it’s not easy to for them to copy what is in a picture. They do the best they can. But here is a few:

I like the longer one there, but honestly I’ll go shorter and as it grows it will look more like that. But I don’t want it real short. But this is what I like longer layers at the top and willing to go shorter in the back. But not stupid short. This is what I mean when say “long layers”. I don’t want feathered hair like a bird and that is what I tend to get! This is feathered below. I don’t want that! When I say long layers I usually get some form of the below (a bit longer). So I’m taking a lot of pics of the right way and this pic of the wrong way! lol. Out of all the above cuts, my favorite is the blonde in the red shirt. But if she can do any of the above, I’ll be happy!

OK off to conquer this day!

Haircut Woes and Birthday Joys

Hey there! I realized since I did my Year in Review post, I had not posted about our dinner at Aunt Gwen’s who we lovingly call “OAG”, for Old Aunt Gwen, when George taught Katy to call her that for fun when she was tiny. It stuck. We had a nice time at Gwen’s. Her house beautifully decorated, conversation always fun, and her lasagna makes me long for the recipe. We did this on the 30th of Dec.

Our November and December has been such a whirl that I don’t know which way is up. It’s been fun, exciting, but I’m worn out. My next goal in life is to get caught up on sleep and rid myself of the dark circles and puffiness under my eyes where I’ve had so much on every to do list that it has hampered my ability to sleep. I think the brain has to have “think time”. And when you don’t get it – you wake in the night doing it. In the couple of days I’ve tried to use my drive time as think time so that my mind can just ramble through what it needs to. I’ve also ignored my to do list since the 1st b/c every moment has had something planned this week so no free time to try and knock anything out.

Why is time always a problem and why do we always try to fill our time up? Are we afraid we are going to be bored?

Mom and Dad

Mom posted a pic this week on Facebook of her and Dad back about when they were first married. I didn’t have that pic. I do now! 😉

George’s ham pot pie

I don’t think I have posted this here. Forgive me if I have. I think I only posted to Facebook but George made this with the leftover ham. It was really good.

Roger and Little Bit’s “Stare Down”

Roger and Little Bit had a “Stare Down” this week. Roger won. The stare down lasted for two or three minutes it seemed. Maybe it was just one or two but it seemed forever. George kept telling Roger to stop it but he can’t hear. I really didn’t think it was a big deal, but I guess George knew what was going to happen. One of them finally moved and the cat ran out and Roger chased him – both going at lightning speed. It was pretty funny. Especially since Roger is so timid and laid back and friendly and often scared of Little Bit in Little Bit’s turf (outside on the porch). Inside, Roger had the lead and confidence and ran him out of the room.

New Year’s Day was nice. It was just a total forget the world, forget the to do list, forget everything day. I did what I wanted – didn’t even do laundry and usually I want to do that. I played on the new iMac – still kinda setting up some things and figuring it out. I will be for a while. I also watched some YouTube shows on the iMac, having brought a comfy chair in and setting up a make shift foot stool. George laughed. I think he was laughing as I was using it as a TV. I mostly think he’s happy I’m enjoying my gift. I also took a nap and then it was dinner time. And I believe we watched Below Deck. On New Year’s Eve we watched a Julia Roberts movie (directed by Tom Hanks and also he was one of the main characters.) I’d never heard of “Larry Crowne”, which I enjoyed even though the ratings reportedly were not as good as hoped.

On the 2nd, it was hair cut day. If this were a conversation I’d say “don’t get me started”. I’ve grown my hair out for many months now to get out of the “feathered” stage and have long layers, so that I could get a different type of cut than what I usually get.

Me, on Ugly Sweater Day at Christmas time.

So I have increasingly had a problem styling the back as it grew, but I liked it long on the top. So I picked out these hair styles below to give to my hair stylist as an example, of keeping it long on the top and short in the back.

Me, after Hair Cut
Ya’ll don’t get a big pic of this – I look horrible in this pic!

However, I ended up with a feathered hair cut again like always. I was so upset. I cried when I got home. It took so long to grow the top out of the feathers I had before. I guess I will google what makes your hair grow (in foods) and eat that for two months. lol I would never want to hurt her feelings but I think the stylist knew I wasn’t happy. She left it long in front of my ears like a bob at first but since the top was so short I didn’t like that and had to get her to cut that off. I cut more of it off when I got home. And I’ve never been one that liked the style of longer hairs in the front hanging down like fangs or wings. The long part was supposed to be on top. Anyway, you can’t glue on cut hair so it is what it is.

I wasn’t sure how it was going to look but I did not like the style, so I came home and stuck my head under the bathroom faucet and poured water on it and restyled it. It looked better styled with a round brush to give it body and make it look longer. But it was ruined already. The tears just poured. I think I look horrible with the cut. It makes my nose and cheeks look big. The longer layers distract from that. I had wanted to keep it longer on top like the pictures showed and just have the back shorter at the nape of my neck. I had been so excited for weeks about this cut.

George, knowing he had a crises on his hands the day before my birthday, tried to cheer me up by giving me a birthday card to open that had come in the mail that day. The timing was impeccable.

I don’t “still got it” but at least the message made me laugh. And with descriptives using my middle initials. How sweet. I DO wish I could have that dogs head of hair and start over.

Anyway I look like an old woman that I am I guess – birthday at 57 and short butchy hair cut feathered all over. I’ve a good mind to go ask Rod Stuart how to just spike it up all over and do that til it grows out. I’m at such a loss. But, I’ve got to do something different. But what? Nothing? I guess it just has to grow and I’ll just have to get over it. I have some research to do I guess to try and find someone that thinks they can do this cut. I really didn’t think it was that difficult of a cut. I just don’t want heavily feathered hair like a bird. I want long soft layers.

OK anyway, it is what it is and it will grown and I will get over it, but I cannot control my feelings and I’m very disappointed. I think it’ll take about six months to get the layers on top back down to a reasonable size. I will probably like the cut better in a couple of weeks. Right now it is just so tight against my head that it’s hard to even get any body in it. So looking on the bright side: Getting ready in the mornings sure will be quick. lol And I don’t want to hurt the stylist’s feelings. She is a good person and I can’t account for what went wrong. I just can only account for my disappointment. It was evident by my reaction. I also have decided not to color it again due to where I had that surgery. So I’m afraid it might be seeping in. It seeps in the pores anyway and I just don’t want the chemicals in my body anymore. So I will begin to look old soon. If not already by this cut. I must go back on the shakes in a serious way to get rid of those fat cheeks!

Deer in the back yard upon arrival home

Yesterday – my Birthday was fun. The first thing I thought of when I was drinking coffee is that I would order myself some Cracker Barrel on line and pick it up 45 minutes later on the way to work. Cracker Barrel is 2 min away from my office. I got there in record time but had to wait like 30 minutes. I would have had time to get seated and eat almost. I did have some time to shop and bought a plant. They had some great deals and I needed to get out of there before I bought lots of clothes.

I did buy the plant. Of course it wasn’t on sale. But it was my birthday and I had blow money left. lol

It meant so much to me that Lauren brought over a little gift. Also had conversations with friends Tracy and Mia and others who went out of their way to say Happy Birthday. Of course there were lots of messages from family, nice little messages and texts from church buddies. We have not been in a while since I usually just worship on the go – in the car or office as church takes a 1/2 of a day, and with my psyche, I just need down time. But nice to hear from them. I really didn’t think they had missed us. lol Anyway Facebook was fun. That Story thing was new where people add a birthday message to your story. That was nice. I liked that.

After work I got my nails done and they needed it desperately. They tried to charge me too much though but it was a misunderstanding they said. No problem I let them know it was wrong, lol.

Then we went out to eat Mexican last night at Margarita House. What a crowd. It was good though. Once inside someone dropped a big huge trey of dishes in the hallway. Scared all of us to death as it was really loud. I guess everyone was turning to look at my hair cut and they had a mishap. lol. JK

Anyway, we came home and I watched some of my shows on the big TV. I just needed to zone out for a bit. Had been a long hectic day of looking up over a 100 people’s PTO’s – coding them and having to figure their PTO’s using last week’s report and subtracting out this week’s report which had the last week’s PTO used on it – so I didn’t allow PTO to go through that wasn’t used while our PTO system is “under construction” for the adjustments that take place end of year. Thank goodness next week it should be back to normal. If not I’ll be looking at three reports to get totals, lol. Also keeping a tracking list of the hundred folks that took PTO on the 30th or 31st or both so those can be tracked out of their 2020 totals. So a time consuming day and the more forms I did the more forms that were sent. I thought I’d never get through. Biggest PTO week ever since I’ve been in PR. Didn’t have time to work on tax stuff for monthly, quarterly, or year end stuff. The next few weeks I will have to come in early, stay as late as I feel comfortable doing without people being there. And probably will not have much lunch time just to get through. It will be a busy month work wise. The busiest ever I think. The last two weeks were holiday weeks and they were pretty nutty.

So here we are to the current day of Jan 4th. George and I are going to do some birthdaying at some point and I’ll let you know how that goes. We also do Christmas and birthdaying with my SIL and BIL tomorrow. So much fun ahead. But today I need to go so I can get laundry done and work on the house some. I’ve not had time to do laundry all week – well I could have done it on New Year’s Day but didn’t.

Oh, George gave me $85 in credits for Amazon to order what I wanted. And that along with the $50 Mom gave me, I have ordered some new tennis shoes (two pair), some lipstick (2 colors), and some body wash lotion for winter, and also some cute kitchen dish rags. George took the other $85 for him on Amazon. We split our money back from ordering things on Amazon. I think that is so cool. I bet Target and Walmart wished they had been more successful with their online shopping. I just got tired of them not having what I wanted and they changed to that Shipt program where you have to pay the service. So it began to not be worth it to me anymore. I just buy at the grocery now since I go to buy fresh foods anyway and pet food. I know that Amazon has their own Prime Pantry or whatever, but I’ve still been able to find what I need through Amazon almost perfectly even food at times. I’m not paying for additional services through shopping unless it’s a major thing for me. Amazon is enough. The rest I’ll just go buy in person.

Maisy girl Ready to go to Bed!

She was waiting for me to go to bed last night. And for her “meat treat” from George. She knows the routine. I get up, grab my phone, get water for bedside table, and take her out and they get a meat treat while I brush teeth and wash my face, and then she comes to the bedroom about the time I get in the bed so she can join me. We talk and play a bit and I rub her tummy and she licks my hand for more. Finally when I say “let’s go seepy” She will move over onto George’s side and we snooze.

Snoozin’ was good last night but I did have weird dreams when sleeping in this morning. Anyway better go get that laundry started. Hope I don’t get this long hair caught in anything! LOL
