Doing Home Projects and an Update

Life has definitely kept us busy. And it’s been hard to keep up, and try to catch up at the same time, while yet- still trying to get ahead of this fall busy season coming. It’s enough to make your head spin. I struggled to get a lot done this week. We did a lot, but I’m still very behind. You can watch it here.

Life Update

In real time…this week I got the fall decor out, and have worked hard to film that for next week’s vlog. My decor is nothing fancy, nothing expensive and my footage will not be the nice peaceful footage of candles and leaves, amidst beautiful music (LOL) that many long to see. It will be of me struggling amidst life and its pitfalls, including an ear infection, running errands, chasing down a darn key fob (3 trips to the next town over for this one), Mom’s doc appt in Nashville, my doc appt for my very inflamed ear infection, and an extra long video to edit b/c of 2 hours of footage 🙄.

In addition I fought with Chet (ChatGPT) over my schedule asking him what needed to change as I’m overloaded – he couldn’t help me. It’s all on me. He says to do one to three things only – that’s not gonna work. It’s all important though. He sympathizes with me though and that helped. Til I can catch up, I just try to prioritize it and get the most important things done and about 5 p.m. daily I forward the rest to the next appropriate day to try to do them. I do like my system, as it helps me keep up with things. So I don’t want to change THAT. It’s working, as I’m productive. I DO schedule in some down time to do things I want to do – it’s just a struggle b/c I want to do it all and do it all NOW. It was the same when I worked. I was very detailed and wanted to get it all done.

Yesterday I planned out the rest of the year, despite the Lord saying don’t be making plans. I think He’s ok with us making plans to be organized as long as we realize that HE is the one that determines our ultimate plans. So I made the plans, knowing that they could/would change. But I made the plans so that I can more easily walk through the maze of what the fall/Christmas season will bring.

I chose topics for the video, when to film them, when they would go live. I chose relatable topics, surrounding what we are doing. Some will be filmed early and posted later and my goal is to have videos through the end of the year period with NO dates in which there is NO video (at least for now). I’ve taken into consideration the fact that I will have less editing time, will be traveling, and will have company/family in town. So I have a schedule that will work.

I’ve also been planning on how to prep for Christmas earlier during our busier than usual fall/Christmas time period. Everything has an earlier time deadline. But it felt good to see that even though it will be busy, if we can manage to do things earlier, it will be less stressful and we can still do YouTube too.
