Bucket List Items 2025 & Year in Review

Bucket List 1st Quarter of 2025

Well, here’s what retirement looks like, in 2025. I’ll be doing all these things on the bucket list or trying to anyways. I realized I left off St. Patricks day but there’s room down there for one more thing.

So lots of projects and outings!

I still have to video my 2025 goals. This includes some of them for the first quarter, but this is our bucket list which includes a lot of nuts and bolts and things we want to do Jan thru March, including things like using gift cards, going on adventures, and eating out at places, and giving us ideas for following thru on our intentions.

Retirement So Far…

I am still with remnants of the flu and have not felt well all day (felt better yesterday). However, I began to sweat a few minutes ago. I think it’s about to break loose. I can breathe a little bit better but still struggling with stuffy nose. Thankfully not much coughing today. No fever today so far. I’m scheduled to go do some things at Mom’s Thursday so I should be ok by then and not contagious anyway.

So it’s been nice to be retired. It’s hardly believable, but I don’t see how I would have functioned this week with the flu, so I guess it’s a good thing I was retired. I’ve often done payroll with a fever as no one else would have done it and got things done so everyone got paid, at the expense of others getting sick too but which is worse – not getting paid didn’t seem like an option? lol So this year I didn’t have to worry about it. Thank goodness.

All that said, I’m loving retirement and so grateful that the Lord is letting me retire early. I’m trying to make sure that in my new routine, I’m finding a balance between responsibilities to others, my household, self-care, personal projects, fun and relaxing (reading, TV watching, etc.)

2024 Review

So I’ve not done a thorough run down of all we have done in 2024, like I usually do. But I can take you through some of the high points.

  • I had my appendix out in early 2024.
  • Our little grandson Trace was born and we were able to go to TEXAS for that in March of 2024.
  • We saw an almost total solar eclipse.
  • My YouTube channel became monetized in 2024.
  • We went to the Grand Old Opry
  • Saw Molly Tuttle at the Ryman Auditorium and had a night out with friends
  • We hung out with our Ireland friends a couple of times (never enough)
  • We saw the northern lights for the first time EVER.
  • We went back to TEXAS for Thanksgiving in late fall.
  • I retired in December.

If I’ve forgotten anything else important, please forgive me. I was not able to read much during the year and what I did finish, I didn’t keep up with what I was reading on a list. Maybe I can continue that on GoodReads this year and put it on here on my blog.

What’s Coming

I’m currently working on the TWO Texas Videos from Thanksgiving. That one will go live this Saturday. And the following one will likely go live Mid Week the following week and then my goals video should go live on January 11th. Later than wanted for my goals video but it is what it is. I’ve tried to get it done but my voice has been raspy, rattled with sneezes and coughs and just not worthy of a New Year’s goal discussion. lol. So a good time to finally work in the TX videos. Life has spun up on me with work, Christmas, family in town and all that. Videos and YouTube had to go by the wayside. And then now the flu, but we are on the mend. And I’m thankful for peaceful time to just relax. Thank the Lord.

Well Happy New Year everyone. I’ll likely not be doing another post for a few days. So I’ll say it now. Our NYE dinner of a lamb roast is ready so I’m going to go eat. Love you guys. It’s gonna be a great 2025, or I sure hope it will be!

Is there any color coding to your entries?. This is so inspiring. I’m realizing I’m truly adhd. 4 loads of clean laundry in baskets all over but none put up where it should go. I started writing some of my others down but got overwhelmed. I will give myself grace and consider what I can do this week until I can admit to the big goals. I saw the new movie based on Bod Dylan. Any music lover would enjoy it.

I began collecting all the bucket list desires over many months. George added to them. Having the list keeps us focused. I don’t think I’m Adhd but think just pulled in and wanting to do so many things. Just a passion for life. 🙂 Good luck with yours. Just write them down as you think of them. I use Notion and the iPhone reminders to take notes and remember things.

First thing—I hope you feel better very soon !

You are an inspiration for me, and I thank you for that. I plan on using your “systems” as a model for myself. I’m an organized person but with some effort I could be doing more and enjoying my life more.

God Bless you and your family. Have a wonderful New Year!

Awww you are so kind to say that! I have my goals video coming out in January and will share how I keep them alive without burnout. It’s worked. So far! Happy New Year! Not sure I can stay awake! lol 😂
