My New Short Hair Cut, Adventures in Nashville

Good morning! The next video is live. You can watch it HERE. In this one, we get our first foggy days of fall, and I get my hair cut, toes done, and we head into Nashville for some fun adventures at Marathon Village, Antique Archeology, and Greenbrier Distillery and more. Fun Saturday!

As for “REAL TIME” updates for this week.

• My replacement is doing great and she’s “sitting in the driver’s seat”. It felt a little different the first day but it was a good feeling as I realize the baton is handed over and I could feel the responsibility easing on my plate. So far so good.
• It’s a little boring at times with both of us there as we get things done so quickly with two eyes on things and also two people to do the stuffing of checks etc. But they wanted this many months of training so that is what they got unless they want to let me go early and pay me out til Dec 20. I’m at least needing to be paid til then as expected. But they’ll want me to be physically there even if I’m sitting there twirling my thumbs.
• Mom has a lot of doc appts scheduled in NOV and DEC so I’m going to be gone some of the hours anyway as I tote her back and forth. Plus I have PTO’s scheduled as well.
• I’ve been doing a lot of online Christmas shopping.
• I ordered a Halloween outfit this year for the office since we are “having a thing”. I really didn’t want to spend the money but it wasn’t too much and maybe I will keep it for another 80’s party. It seems to be the rage lately.
• Maddie dog was really sick again last weekend, but George got her to the vet quickly Monday and she quickly recovers with antibiotics and anti-diarreah meds. We think she eats deer poop balls. I’ve caught her doing it a few days before she got sick. So we are trying to watch and make sure to steer her clear of it but the leash lines are sometimes long and she’s in it before we know it.
• The washer quit last weekend but the repair man came on Wednesday to fix it.
• Tuesday night we brought dinner for the three of us and ate there at Mom’s. She said we could wash clothes there. Apparently we were a dirty crew because she said she needed some washer cleaner now. lol I just think we probably should have used a laundry mat so we won’t be accused of messing something up. But it’s something we can hardly escape I think. I can never do anything right or please.
• The work days really tire me out. I sometimes think that I don’t know how I will survive any more weeks. I’m just flattened and feel squeezed out in time. It’s to the point it’s almost laughable now. So much needs to be done here at the house.
• We have life group coming NEXT Sunday. George and I were thinking this life group needs to really just dis-ban. No one really seems to be into it or interested. We plan the dates months in advance. But yet people book over it much of the time. I was thinking it was just me that noticed the lack of interest and commitment but George noticed it too so it wasn’t just me. I too, had rather not have them right now due to little time we have. So I get it. Life is just overwhelmingly busy on a normal basis and this time of year especially. Mom won’t go on Sunday’s they occur either and honestly it stresses me out to have them here because of the dogs and having little time to prep in our week for it with me working and doing the channel and with Mom and WBS. It’ll be better when I retire and can cook and clean house. But we’ll keep our commitment to having it this next week. If not for that I’d probably choose to bug out til next year when we have more time. Everyone is busy it’s not just us. It will make me mad to bust our butts next weekend and only have one or none come. I WILL tell you THAT! And I know some don’t like our dogs but they are part of our family sooooooo….maybe this group is not for us or I should say we are just not for them, but no one will come out and say it. It’s just something I had to figure out on my on because of the Southern passive aggressive thing. We had an event at our house the first time and then two couples left the group after that making me think we did something wrong. But I was told it wasn’t us and I think it was something that someone else said about us (I think) that made them decide to leave the group to be away from that person. So they quit the group and it made us sad because we really enjoyed spending time with those two couples. I don’t know what happened for sure, but things are starting to make more sense now. Anyway, I’m not sure what to think or what to do but just keep our commitment, try to love everyone through it, and how this turns out will probably spell out the future of our participation in the group. I think in 2025 we may just do something different. I really want to be around people that want to be around us you know. I’m not placing judgment on anyone but just an observation of what seems to be occurring.
• My office is exploding with Christmas Gifts and I need to be wrapping already. I’ve pledged to wrap one a day so as to not be overwhelmed in December. Nov and Dec will go by lightning fast so we are trying to get it all in order now.

Ok we have another excursion planned today. I’m trying to NOT stress. I’ve kinda given up at this point and just trying to go with the flow and do the best I can. Somehow I need to work in laundry, change George’s sheets, organize the house a bit, and be able to be out the door by 10:00 a.m. We will be filming this one too.

Sorry I’m not able to blog mid week anymore for a while. Everything is taking over. :-O. Only like 8 weeks to go or something like that! 😉
