Schedule Change, Busy Season Starts Now, and Other Updates

Life is certainly picking up. I have had some really busy days lately, more than usual. Getting to blog right now is pretty special. It’s because I doubled things up last night in order to catch up and then kept going and got the entire video edited.

I thought you might like seeing the dogs above. Maddie has since had a trim though.

Changing My Schedule

I’ve changed my schedule a bit. I couldn’t figure out why I was getting so far behind and struggling and not getting things done. Well after I thought about it, sitting in traffic one day – I realized that was it – “traffic”. Since school has been in session, it’s taking me 15-30 min more each way to work and then again coming back. That’s up to 5 hours lost in a week. I can get a lot done in 5 hours. So I have moved my schedule again to try and get some of that back.

I’m getting up, taking dogs out, fixing their breakfast, doing a 20 min walk on the walking pad and then I shower and go to work. I get there earlier and save some time not sitting in school zones, behind buses, and in traffic. That means I get to leave earlier! I get home and then have ample time to do video edits before dinner. So far it’s working pretty good, except for today and I’ll save that for later.

Becoming Monetized with YouTube.

Well gosh, this has been exciting. It’s so nice when a goal actually comes to fruition. I had dreamed of being monetized by retirement to supplement, and my gosh if it’s not happening before retirement. The whole thing so far has been paced and fairly easy. YouTube’s back office “YouTube Studio” leads you through the journey and in fact they keep you informed with weekly reviews and analytics at your fingertips anytime. They tell you what to do if you follow the links in their back office.

So you have to prove who you are to google and then they refer you with a link to AdSense and you sign a 1099 tax form and go through some info with them – pretty straight forward. They mail you something in the mail and you have to enter the code to show your address was valid. I’ve been waiting til I was able to add my bank account in as a method of payment. So first I opened a separate checking account with a bank here in Mount Juliet that didn’t have a fee and was just a simple account. And now I’ve given that info to AdSense. The next step is verifying the “cents” they send to test my account. Once I verify I received it, they will retrieve the “cents” back from the account same day.

Anyway, for a half month, I was kinda shocked how well it paid. I think this is pretty cool. I see a new camera in my future. Ha. Might take a month or two more though, lol. But the money comes around the 21st of every month for the month before.

My Grandsons

Oh my, they are growing up in my messages. Katy sends pics and they are each one like getting little pieces of gold. I can’t wait to see them. Just a couple of months away now. Speaking of, I need to make our hotel reservations soon for Hot Springs where we make our bookend stops coming and going at the half way point.

Little Toot has some teeth coming in. And Little Roo is becoming a football fan in a big way and also becoming a hunter. Little Toot just looks like a man already in his face. I can see him with overalls, chewing on a piece of hay, and talking with guys – just a good ole boy! lol. I can see it already. I pray for each of them daily for God to steer their lives, their feet, and to bless them.

Mom

Well, Mom has had some issues recently that needed some medical advice, so we went to a doc today and discussed her options. It’s kinda personal so I decided not to put the details in the blog, but it’s very much a quality of life issue and something that will keep her from going anywhere outside the house if it’s not fixed. So this morning I took her to the doc and it was an all morning thing, and of course a new prescription – a doc can’t doctor without that, right? (Do they have a drug that will wash my dishes yet?) She has two other appointments on separate dates for testing. It was kinda hard to fit it in but we got it done. I am a little shocked myself at all the appointments coming up for not only her, but me too. So I was late today to work and stayed a little later. I am also half day behind at work so I need to work fast and hard to get it all caught up. I got the critical stuff done today.

Back to the schedule…I know it’s going to be a hard few months to get through. We have a LOT going on right now. A LOT is booked on our schedule. And I have no idea where the time is going to come from but I’m just going to let God handle it. I’m trying not to get overwhelmed.
