Many Lists among Small Pockets of Time

June.

June started out feeling pretty overwhelming. June should be the month with the most opportunity to catch up. However, instead of using that time for preparing a payroll manual for the person that will replace me when I retire, my list has changed to going back and adjusting returns from the beginning of the year where an employee was put in the wrong tax code by another department. And we have two more states that I have to register for taxes in so just like that —free catch up time squashed –no extra time to be found anywhere. Once July hits it will be so busy with quarter end again. I don’t recall having much time in the rest of the year but we shall see. I will do what I can and then that is it!

Mom.

As for Mom, her needs seemed to have increased overnight. I need to hire a scribe just just to go with us and take notes as to what all she wants/needs, lol. Here’s the list:

  • Call and check on property and city tax rebate. DONE. They are running very behind, but have to have it done by OCT.
  • Mom’s financial analysis recap. (Totaling May’s spending in buckets/areas). She didn’t ask me to do this, but I keep up with it, so when she says “where did my money go” I can tell her things she did like “grill at Lowes, bras and Kohls”. Hey that rhymes. lol. I also let her know if funding is getting low. So she can cut back her spending. She loves to conjure up new things to have.
  • Possibly set her up for the Grub Hub free delivery now with Amazon Prime. For days when she really needs a meal from somewhere else. I’m sure with taxes and fees it’ll still be expensive. But at least we’ll have an option.
  • Need to buy her birthday gifts for next month so that doesn’t sneak up on me.
  • She wants one of Daddy’s fiddles hung. George has ordered the supplies and left her the fiddle and supplies there, but just needs to hang it.
  • She has a chair that needs fixing on the back porch
  • She wants to get the china cabinet fixed and moved into the house from the garage.
  • She wants a tiny picture of my Daddy for her little locket she bought. I have to order some or have some printed at Walgreens.
  • She needs a mattress that she wants someone to haul off.
  • She needs me to try to get discounts for her meds which will be $1,000 when she goes into the donut hole. I have to call her doc office, call her insurance, call her doctor, and apply for a grant through the Rx provider. Do you think I have this kind of time in my day? All these places operate M-F 9 to 5.
  • Keep lighting a fire under Meals on Wheels.
  • Keep reminding Mom that she may have to make some of these calls because I DO STILL HAVE a FT JOB.

I’m not sure I’d even have time to do all that while retired, lol. But I would certainly have more time. I’m not retired yet, so she may have to make some phone calls while she sits all day in the recliner. She knows more about what she needs with the meds than I do. When I asked her what meds it was she told me it was CBD marijuana (gummies). It’s not, it’s her heart meds which is called something else. I have it written down, but I’m too busy at work yet to be able to make the calls. So that is what we are dealing with. lol. If she calls she’ll need to know what meds herself, lol. I hope she doesn’t say CBD. I would start these call Fridays when I have more time that is not specifically spoken for – but like right now when I’m doing payroll and post payroll activities, taxes, check stuffing, etc. There is a time line and a list I have to get through. This all makes me hyperventilate. I can’t do everything.

Me.

There’s some things that are on my list now that June has arrived. Of course I’m also carrying over some things from all year long that shuffle to the bottom that I don’t ever have time to do but I’m used to that. Here’s the main stuff on my list. Some of which are not important to anyone else but they are to me. This does not list everything either. This is the stuff I don’t have a set time for, stuff that is unscheduled that I can’t find time for. Although I did convince George to watch Bridgerton. We are one show in. I feel like it’s not going to be watched quickly, lol.

  • Plan when to use our gift cards
  • YouTube improvements – making a new end screen.
  • Canva time for creativity – making graphics and videos for the channel. I want to try some new things with AI.
  • An extra content creation video for June. But it’s so hard to squeeze in this extra time to work on them. They require more planning, more work than just a vlog.
  • Journal and manifestation list for 2025, retirement days, and the YT channel branding, etc.
  • Work on Mom’s stuff
  • Watch Bridgerton
  • Get my car washed
  • Finally hem those PJ’s that I’ve been trying to hem for 2 years
  • Do some yoga for back relief
  • Get my Passport
  • Start painting the house
  • Continue to clean out drawers in the house and work on Marie Kondo cleanout
  • Work on all the many projects I have – all which have their own lists. Declutter list, Blog goals, Vlog goals, etc.
  • Read

There are many other things on my list though that are scheduled and well, I didn’t mention those. They will get done as they are scheduled! I feel like I want to blog every day writing about what I accomplished and what went well and what didn’t, like I used to, but there is NO time for that either.

Videos for YouTube

This week’s video footage is grand! It’s so much. I’m having a time dwindling it down, but I’m getting there. I have tonight with it. And I really need to make a good night of it too. I need to weed more footage out, add in a few graphics and clips, do the export, upload to YT and do the thumbnail, before Saturday. Mom and I are gone Thursday to get nails done and Friday she has a doc appt. I’ll have to do thumbnail Fri night after I get home, is my guess. Unless I can find time otherwise.

World Bible School.

I’m still doing this at lunch. I have 350 students, but not all do the lessons at once. One day I had like 20 lessons to grade. I had not been on it the day before, and that is rare for me to miss a day, but I think I had lunch with the girls or something. I have also TWO FOLLOW-UPs on people that want to be baptized. They are in foreign countries so it takes a while for a rep to be found to baptize them. But I’m excited to see the lessons planting seeds. It’s not my doing, but God’s Word. I’m just a tool to feed them and encourage them and prod them along. We don’t always get to see the results, so it makes me happy to see that two students that I grade their tests, are wanting to be God’s child. But I hate it takes so long. It is what it is. They have been active follow ups for TWO weeks but recently have been adopted by reps in their areas. So hopefully I will hear something soon.

OOPS! STOP! Time to go to work. It’s always time to stop and do something else. I feel like I can never finish anything completely ever. It’s so exhausting. lol. I’m trying to be positive but I get half way into something and it’s time to go do something else. I only have little pockets of time ever.

Hope you are having a great day.

You will need a copy of her Tax Return for any discounts and grants. I was going to bring them up, but with Ken’s surgery being setup we were unable to come. I will get the copies off to your this week. I will also give you the Social Security amount minus her insurance payments.
