Weekend Eating and Problems with My Legs

Yesterday was amazing. Just waking up knowing that you have 3 days off. And it was a busy day but also a productive day. I fixed us breakfast (above). You can see the “egg in a hole” along with tomatoes and we split and apple and banana getting in some fruit.
In the past week I have had some issues with my legs – meaning that I’ve had some pain at the hip and joint areas and in addition they have felt like jelly. Last week on Saturday I had to take small periodic breaks and sit. As my legs would not allow the constant standing. I don’t think it is as bad this week as it was last week as I’ve increased my vitamin D. But I also have a problem with my mattress. I think I’m going to have to give in and get another one. And see if that helps. Because sleep and being comfortable in bed have been a huge issue. I toss and turn all night and have for weeks. My right hip bone hurts in the night as it goes into the mattress in which the memory foam is heavily breaking down. And it puts my alignment off. Sorry for the vent but it is becoming a big deal and is beginning to dramatically impact my day.
So the bed and vitamin D and lifting some boxes, are all culprits. Oh George just said I could buy a new mattress. Yay! I would get it at work but we have to have it delivered and the other bed hauled off, and work won’t do that. Plus I need to be able to try them out and find the perfect one for my needs. I was not overly thrilled by the ones I tried at work recently and no sales person there to help me pick the one I need for my situation. So we’ll pay more to have those services. It is what it is. George may get one too b/c he is already having some deep imprints into the one we bought from work a few years back. To be fair, it’s probably time for another one anyway, but he wants something different this time. It’s way past time for me. We got my mattress back when Tugie the Toy P was still a very young doggie and we lived in Gallatin. So I think we are going shopping tomorrow for the Memorial Day sales. It’s becoming critical for me and getting rest. This has been going on a while. I’m tired of sagging in my sleep and turning over forty times a night trying to find more comfort as my hip bone hurts once I settle in.
Anyway, I worked on laundry as always – five loads yesterday! I am working on towels and sheets and pet beds today.

I spent a chunk of yesterday working on my Marie Kondo project with the books. Books was my next category to work on. I surprised myself by getting rid of probably 20 to 25 books. I didn’t count but it was 3 big stacks. Some were cook books and some were just books (some might have been gifts) that I just were NOT interested in reading but felt bad giving away. Some I was interested in reading 15 years ago but NOT now. So I right sized for me. And I hope I get to read them all before I die. I did video part of it and also my NEXT project will be dishes! It’s hard not to go by closet or drawers, but I think I’m going to have to do that though. Marie Kondo says to go through it by category, but I think after clothes, books, and dishes/kitchenware, I’ll have to just call the category “stuff”. And then ‘papers’ are last which include personal and memorabilia items which she says to do last. It’ll be 2025 before I get that far. I probably won’t video past the dishes either.
Time flew while doing this project. I enjoyed it. And before I knew it – it was dinner time. George fixed the most amazing pork chops. I believe this was the most perfect pork chop I’ve ever had. Perfectly grilled, perfect taste. He fixed lentils and rice also. The lentils were hot but I put some kind of citrus sauce on it and also vinegar and it made it milder. Doesn’t that pork chop look awesome?

After dinner we went for a walk. I am not sure but I wondered if George was trying to make sure my legs/hips got a work out. In the process we met our new neighbors. I think they are Chip and Courtney, if I remember correctly. They were very nice and very friendly. The walk was easy on my legs and when we got back it was too late to watch a movie so we read and then went to bed.
The weather man said we were going to have possible tornadic storms this morning, so Mom and I decided not to go to church. We are under a tornado watch. Storms are headed this way too as I type. If we’d gone we’d probably be eating and trying to do grocerying when the storms hit. We usually are not home til 2 or 3 on Sunday. If that.
So glad to be safe and at home. I did a Bible study and also did a mental Lord’s Supper in my head. I also made myself sit and rest for 30 minutes after doing some chores. I fell asleep just as the 30 minute timer went off. lol. Oh well. I didn’t want to sleep all morning. I’d be mad at myself.

Friday at the store I bought Angel Food cake and whip cream. We’ve had strawberry and/or strawberry and banana for dessert the last two nights. The dogs are spoiled and had a bit of whip cream.
The rest of today I’m going to finish laundry and work in my office. Mom’s bills are paid. World Bible School is done. I’ll also get my videos set up for the next vlog.
I need to sign up for my new dentist (complete all their paperwork). I need to go through email as I do every Sunday. Also want to hang some pics in my office, work on Notion, hem pajamas, be creative on Canva, vacuum, start a puzzle, and so forth. Just a big long list. Maybe I’ll get to do some things I never do. Well looks like the storms are 10 miles away now, so we’ll be getting some alerts. I need coffee! Or something! So sleepy here.
Ya’ll take care. I am going to get some coffee for my mid-afternoon push. Otherwise, I’ll be napping soon.

What anice surprise to pen up for the last time and to find a blog from you. I’m sorry you missed church but if such a storm as you can get was forecast I’m definitely sure I woudnt be going either. We don’t need to be in a church building to pray and praise our Lord…we can usually find a service on the TV if we feel the need….i had church this morning and was able to take two lots of presents up with me that I wrapped yesterday one was for Elizabeth’s baby who arrived on Friday evening her name is Lara her Grandma is Margaret my friend. The other present was for a couple who are getting married on 8th June. Both receivers were surprised but very pleased. This afternoon we have had heavy showers so it’s been an afternoon of TV watching for Mary and me. I made a pasta pea, chicken and broccoli stir fry….most Sundays if we are not out for Sunday dinner we decide on a stir fry. Now I’m in bed and after a few games of Scrabble it will be sleepy time. So I will say. night night. God Bless

Nite Sybil. Can you believe it’s still supposed to storm overnight from 11-3? I’ll be so sleep deprived!
