Texas Size Breakfast, Shopping in Breckenridge, Slow Life

Yesterday provided a bit of a change up. We gave “the kids” a long morning to themselves as a new family and we went out to breakfast at Adriana’s Taqueria.

The platter came with soft and hot tortillas to fix as you please for your own burrito. The plate included chopped bacon, chopped potatoes, eggs with red and green peppers, and refried beans. Yum! It held me to mid afternoon.

Here’s heading into Breckenridge TX and somewhere on the left there you turn on a side street and that is where the Taqueria is.

We went to Walmart and I bought some very inexpensive tops $5 and $10- colorful! Adding to my “retirement” wardrobe. Always find good casual wear out here at Walmart cheaply but well made. I bought this hat!
Then we went to the store at United.

I took a pic first you to see the mesquite trees. Little short Texas trees.

I sat outside on the porch and enjoyed the afternoon. The sun and warmth came for a bit.
Then the breeze and clouds returned as well as a surprise rain shower for a couple of hours. I was so happy sitting here by this tree, knowing my daughter and her family was just next door and just poured my gratitude to God for being here.

Another of Katy’s friends brought dinner. It was a St Patrick’s dinner and was so good. Corned beef, taters, carrots, and homemade rice krispy bars.
There’s no shortage of food. They/We have been blessed.
Both boys had their bath time at the same time. A family event as the baby had his first “home” sponge bath. The umbilical cord fell off yesterday. But having to be careful with circumcision so sponge bath only right now.

Had to get a pic of the chicken bath robe! I didn’t mean to cut Katy off. Was focusing on the baby!

Any way. Yesterday was both fun and relaxing. We have not many plans for the day.
I did a load of darks to refresh our jeans and jammies and socks.
I find myself missing my dogs. The pet spa called (boarding) and asked to my horror if we were picking them up today. Somehow they misunderstand George’s dates. (Insert roll eye 🙄 emoji here).
I panicked and of course said “no we are in TX and they should be there another week”. They said no problem. Both Maddie and Dexter are staying together at night and in the office with them by day! lol 😂
It makes me giggle knowing they are having to sleep in the same room. But at least it must give them hope that they are still a unit and part of a pack. I miss them soooooo much.
The sun is coming up now. It’s much later here but still same time zone. Just much further west.
Anyway. Hope you guys are doing well.
I miss video editing. I looked at the Walmart $699 M1 Playbook laptop but decided it wasn’t enough specs for handling Final Cut Pro. But in retirement- I may invest in a laptop so I can edit as we travel.
As it stands I will miss an upload this Saturday as not being able to get the next one edited as it all sits waiting. I suppose I could use iMovie on my phone and do a small clip or a short! We shall see.
Ok off to the next thing.
