Weekend Vibes, Good Coffee, and Some Fun

George found this “Frothy Cappuccino” and we don’t drink it every day but on a cold winter evening after dinner and as we set in to watch a movie, it’s a wonderful thing. It’s both cozy and enough to keep us awake during the movie but not harm our sleep.

The bad news is so far we haven’t found it again and we only have one left, but we haven’t looked very hard. I’m sure we can find it somewhere.

Friday night I was able to forget work, forget YouTube, forget life and just chill with my dogs, my wine, my book, and check in with my family. Life has been busy and a breather was in order. Maddie was happy to have her lap back. She gets her Dad’s lap during the afternoon as he gets tired of puttering and reads or watches a show, and is sometimes confused with her loyalty now. You can see her looking back and forth. Her decision seems to be based on who has the softer blanket. She always goes for the blanket or throw, and whoever’s lap looks the warmest is where she goes.

I love being on the sofa and having both dogs by my side! Even more fun when all four of us is on the sofa. Usually Dexter doesn’t go for that though. He doesn’t like being next to Maddie and sometimes he will even leave the room when Maddie jumps in my lap. But Dexter and I sneak some time together. I make sure he gets attention from me. Sometimes he will just go and get on my bed or lay in my office and I know he’s needing me then. I wish we had a dog whisperer to sort things out between the two. Maddie rules the roost and she doesn’t even like it when he rough houses playing with his toys. He will stop, duck his head and go into another room. I’ve been trying to encourage some play with him. I feel bad but all I can do easily is to give him more attention and spend more time with him. He gets plenty of time with George but we have to sneak to have time from Maddie.

This book is going well. Oh and I just dusted that coffee table a few days ago but Maddie is shedding and hair stuck to it like glue. lol Anyway, I’m loving this very interesting book “The life-changing magic of tidying up”. I mean wow.  It’s an older book I think. It was a New York Times best seller at one time. It’s by Marie Kondo. And as you see the subtitle there, but it’s blurry “the Japanese art of decluttering and organizing”. So it’s a little bit different in thinking, and you might even laugh at a few things, like talking to your stuff and telling it how much you appreciate it, or rubbing your off season clothes to give them attention and letting them know you will see them soon. It assumes that inanimate objects have feelings. But for the most part her thinking on decluttering – can and does have life changing results. I can see it some in our house already. It makes you kinda look at a lot of things in a different way and it opens the road for other thoughts, organization, and paves the way for you to be productive in other areas or to change other parts of your life – to be more productive, to start new things, complete a dream. It’s kindof amazing what her processes can do. I’m half way through the book and I’m ready to start my “special event cleaning” as she calls it. I’ll be starting with my clothes. It takes about a year to get through with it.

I’ll be filming me going through this process some. So stay tuned. Should be somewhat interesting I think. The clothing will be filmed on the 17th and aired on YouTube the 24th.

I have more to blog but it’ll have to wait. I have to get ready for church and don’t have a lot of time. So I’ll end it here and try to sneak in tomorrow with our pics from the Valentine senior banquet.

I’ll leave you with this pic. George found Gumby and I’m not sure what the other one is called. Is that is girlfriend or his sister? lol. Anyway, Gumby kinda looks like George don’t you think? It’s the eyebrows and the smile I guess, lol.
