Fever and Stomach Issues Again, Our First January Weekend, and Grandson’s Birthday

Saturday I fixed us an “egg in the hole” as I learned how to do from Ree Drummond. We always put something sweet on the “hole” that was cut out. lol. The eggs cooks in the pan dropped in the center of the hole in the bread for about 3 min on each side. I served it with a side of pears.
Friday night though, my stomach was in knots. Saturday I was having some “issues” but by Sunday it was fleshing itself out as an infection. I had a fever and pain in my colon. It happens the same way each time. This was the 4th time since October. I had almost 102 last night and texted my boss things were not looking good for payroll. I slept until 6:30 this morning and took my time until the doc office opened. They opened at 8:00 but could not see me today. I only had 100 and felt pretty good so I went in to work late and did time sheets. I left around 3:30 to get my antibiotic meds.
They called in antibiotics for me so I picked those up this afternoon since I couldn’t be seen today. I asked for them. I figure that if I can go in and get things done at work, even if in a shorter day it’s better than not being there at all. My boss admitted she was very relieved.
My doc is seeing me tomorrow (Tues at 3:50). It’s not an ideal day. I don’t usually make appointments on payroll day, but I didn’t think I could wait until Thursday. So I probably won’t finish with payroll until Wednesday morning. We’ll see.
We had family (George’s sister and my brother in law) to come into town Saturday and so we ate with them at Meatballs Italian Grill. I was not feeling that great – mainly just feeling cold. I probably had a fever then and didn’t realize it.
Sunday, I did not feel like going to church or doing anything but Mom hadn’t been out of the house in almost two weeks so I was NOT messing with that. I suffered through church and Sunday school, lunch at Chili’s in which I ate about two bites and froze to death, and then got her groceries (4 things: a dozen donuts, pop tarts, milk, and tuna fish). I put her cold things up at the house and told her so. As I was leaving she asked where I put her eggs. I did not put her eggs anywhere as she did not ask me to buy eggs.
I also got her mail and gave George two checks to cash for her and she had my sister’s Christmas envelopes to all come back as she addressed them to the wrong place. So I’ve got those repackaged. I also paid her bills after getting her mail.
I had to cancel our nails appointment for tonight. The fever is 100 still. And I think is going up again. I took more Tylenol. So I moved our appointments to Wed night and she has a hair cut appointment Thursday night. I told George that I may have to tell her to go on to assisted living because I’m sick more than I’m well these days and I just want to come home after work and go to bed – especially with these dang fevers. It’s so raw being in the cold when you have a fever. I just can’t get a break of feeling good to save my life.
Little Roo’s Birthday in Texas

Here’s Cody taking him for a ride. lol. He doesn’t exactly fit.

So Sunday George and Kevin, my BIL went to the Titans game and then Susan came and stayed at our house after their hotel time was up. She came in while I was with Mom Sunday. Dexter did not take too kindly to her without us there so she had to lock them out of the den, lol. He didn’t warm up until I got home.
I sat in a blanket, not knowing I had a fever yet, and rested and talked with my SIL until the guys came home. After they left is when I took my temp as I was feeling kinda dizzy, and it was 101.7. I was in bed for about 12 hours trying to sleep off this infection. My SIL was excited to watch games on the TV and Dexter was interested in what she was doing with the yarn. She was knitting. We had a good time talking and I enjoyed spending time just relaxing. I made us some coffee. I hope she doesn’t mind the pic on the blog. I wanted it for the memory. It was a nice time.

So my goal now is to try and set up the next video so I can try to get it done by Saturday morning!
I’ll come back and let you know what the doc says about this situation that keeps happening. Four times now, if not five since October. I’m losing count. But I’m soooo over it.
Hope your week is going well.

Thanks. Me too. I’m trying to be positive and live moment by moment. The good side of it is it brings me to rest and clears the schedule. I’d rather it not but at least a day in bed or a longer sleep is appreciated. But I’m truly sad about not being able to just live my life in peace.

Waiting anxiously to hear what Dr is saying. They MUST get to the bottom of this…it’s not normal to have so many infections in so many months. There must be more tests that they can and should be arranging. God Bless.

I agree. It’s time.

When I was having so much stomach pain four years ago, I had a scope done, where they look around inside of your esophagus and stomach. I’m surprised the doctor hasn’t sent you to a gastroenterologist, who would probably do an upper GI,

My problems are lower GI and I had a colonoscopy. My guess is I’ll end up getting a CT scan and/or a belly scan – I forget the name of it- but like they do when your pregnant. lol
I’m thinking it is bacterial as it acts like ecoli or salmonella from the onset. Hopefully we will know soon. I’ll see what my doc does. I can go to my GI without a referral if need be. Each time it cleared up I thought we were good but it comes back. Each time the common denominator was spaghetti from my freezer even though two batches. So I’m not sure that’s it but it happened each time. I’m not eating spaghetti any more from the freezer and not even freezing any more of it. Which in unfortunate because it was my favorite lunch meal!
