Managing Life with Grace and Ease….or Maybe NOT!

All is going well with “Little Toot” Maddie. Miss Madelyn. Or Madeline. We will officially call her Maddie. She is doing great and working into the schedule. She is able to roam around more alongside her brother Dexter. He’s being gentle. Sometimes she freaks out but as he is less and less intrigued and gets to know her, he leaves her alone. They go on walks together, and learning to eat at the same time in the same rooms.

She is eating more now that she is comfy so we are going to have to figure what is too much. She’s picky but happy with anything beef. Will not eat dry food. She loves eggs. And she only likes one kind of treat. She sleeps in her cage at night for now. And sleeps all night long.

She used the paper this morning to poop, like her brother Dexter. And mostly has done her business outside. She did get confused and pee’d on my white bath rug because it looked like the paper, I guess. So now I keep the bath rug atop the shower stall top so she doesn’t do that anymore. Mostly she goes outside. We had one poop in the kitchen when she ate a lot, and the paper wasn’t in there and she just had to go right then. That is why we have laminate flooring though, so we could have dogs and deal with any accidents. But she prefers outside. She also loves our laps. And all is sort of falling into a routine. She is mostly very easy to keep and to work in. It’s not been an inconvenience at all, but a joy! She is precious. She does hump her bed though – quite often. Last night going to sleep, I shockingly heard sounds of rocking and thumping. I just rolled my eyes, told her to go to sleep and rolled over. lol.

We’ve been going out to eat some with my family from Jacksonville. I had already torn into this when I realized I needed to take a pic. This meal was really good. A little salty for me but the roasted chicken, taters and green beans at the Barrel House here in Mount Juliet, was excellent.

From this pic, it may look like we have just spent the week relaxing, but don’t let that fool you. We have been on the run all week. Only about 5 to 10 minutes an evening in this mode right here. And while I run around Maddie found George’s lap instead.

Work has been very busy and despite my efforts at catching up I find myself a half day behind since the holiday. But I’m trying not to work over this week and just rush through. It’s just always a sore spot with me to have a HOLIDAY of time off and then have to make it up when you get back. You gain nothing that way. It’s not a holiday when you do that. So I’m trying to “force” the HOLIDAY to be what it should be – eight additional hours off!

I managed to get the video done all but the thumbnail. I will work on that sometime before I go to bed tonight. Sometime this weekend I will start on the next one for Saturday June 10th. But I’m not sure I’ll be able to pull off having a video for the next weekend. I will give it my best shot. I’m going to be very short on time next week so the only way I can do it is to get a very heavy start to editing over the weekend. And it’s a Fancy trim Saturday which means Mom and I will go out. And it’s a Life Group Sunday in which we we will be gone most all day Sunday. Sometime I have to do laundry and pack.

Our neighbors told us they will keep Little Toot (Maddie). And soon it will be time to see a beach view, something like this right here!

It’s Friday morning as I type this. I need to get into work. We have reservations at our favorite steak house with my family that is in town (Aunt Martha and Uncle Ken) and Mom. So we are looking forward to that. And a busy weekend ahead. And a busy week ahead as well as the one after that.

I hope I don’t forget anything important. Mom’s bills are paid for this week. I’m kinda pulling my wardrobe together for the beach. New swimsuit bought. And we really looking forward to the beach time next week – only half a week, but still!

The Lord blesses. Everyone have a great weekend! Whatcha doing?

When you said ‘Little Toot’ my imagination went a bit off the rails. And FYI,my Susy has a Hump-A-Bear just for herself.

I’m so pleased that wee Maddie is settling in with you and that she and Dexter are good together. I expect she will be a wee bit confused when you go off for your wee holiday but I’m glad your neighbour has said she will keep her for you. Then once you’re home she can really settle in to knowing she is yours forever. She too might be able to go to doggy play school once she is properly yours has been …done…etc etc…..I’m so praying you will have a good weekend and that plans keep going well for the holiday. I think I have a quiet weekend ahead….Keep Well…xxxx

Any time I’ve had a dog that humps things, I just start telling them “no” firmly and stop them every time they start. It’s very easy, as long as you are consistent.
