Chatty Catch-Up and Reset Week Post Vacation

Having come back from vacation and also having faced the fact that it is mid-year, I do a reset of my Notion account and a review of my goals for the year to see how we are doing and what is left. You can expect from this video: a catch up of books I’m reading, shows we are watching, a walk-through of George’s man cave, and a chicken bowl recipe. I take you with me to pack Magi boxes too. So a packed week of many things. You can watch it HERE.
I’ve been down a few days this week. It’s totally the fact that I’ve retreated into the a/c and I’m getting tired of the heat. I don’t like to complain, but I’m listing the things that are making me less than motivated. It’s in these times that I get a little aggravated with myself as I feel lazy and tired and don’t want to do anything. I like the surge of accomplishment (good feelings) that getting things done brings me. But I forget that it’s ok to just rest and read, or play a computer game, or watch TV when I’m feeling less than motivated. Regardless, I didn’t vlog the last two days – or blog. Nothing was going on and I had nothing to say. But I DO think these times are just necessary. Maybe our brains and bodies just need the down time. I’m just not used to it I guess, but made the most of it. I’m almost finished with my Danielle Steel book – Five Days in Paris.
I slept a 92 score last night and we had a good day with friends yesterday that I didn’t vlog because we were just in the moment. Having a couple of mid-day beers on top of the hot weather and on top of my already less motivated self – really sent me into a deeper tiredness when we got home. I was so sleepy and didn’t have that much to drink. But I did begin editing a video, checked on Mom, read and watched a show.
This week I also watched the show Amy Bradley is Missing – the girl that went missing on the cruise ship. It was very interesting. George went out Thursday night with the guys and I watched that then.
Today we went to the Farmer’s Market and bought fresh veggies. I’m very excited for this and this will help me feel better too getting those fresh vitamins in my bod.
So I’m about to plan some for the next week. I can tell you that next week will involve these things:
- Doing some housework chores I’ve been ignoring and throwing forward
- Eating all these wonderful veggies
- Finding a dress for black tie wedding :-O (I’m a little nervous about this and really don’t want to have to spend the money for this, but I guess we will b/c we want to go. We just don’t dress up much.)
Ya’ll have a great week. I’m already feeling better and looking forward to the week ahead. Maddie girl is all trimmed up this week and she looks cute and smells good.
Here’s the link again if you want to watch this week’s vlog watch it HERE. It’s the 2 weeks before George left for his trip.

You might want to try a consignment store to look for a dress. There is also a company where you rent clothing- Rent The Runway. Im not sure what the price range they have but I’ve heard good things.

Yes. Consignment on the list. Not interested in rental situation. Thanks for the ideas though.

This heat has me bummed too, but this too shall pass.
I only have AC in bedroom so pretty confined to doing small projects, watching movies on DVD, reading and what not. I try to do a little work outside the bedroom, but then must shower and go back into the AC. So you are not alone on the motivation and lack of energy.
I’m not ready for fall as that means cold weather is not far behind, but I do look forward to the smells of fall and beautiful colors. It is my favorite time of year.
You’ll find a nice dress and enjoy dress-up for just one day. Can’t wait to see what you pick out.
We have so many good farmers markets here, but its been to hot to go to them. Maybe by Thursday it will cool down a little.

Ugh yes. This heat. I don’t see how you can do it with no a/c all over. I will be grateful 🥹 then and not take it for granted. I’m ready for cooler weather. Sweatshirt weather is my favorite. But not ready for coats yet. Or the flu lol.
