Well, it’s been a fun and busy couple of days. Katy picked me up at the airport on Tuesday in Dallas and we headed to Waco which was a 1.5 hour drive.
We ended up going to a Mexican restaurant called Sagrado Covina and Bar. In Waco for lunch. We shopped at Spice Village – a fun little shopping place.

We then went to Waco Ale Co. and had a beer. It was a brewery. And then got to check in at our hotel called Pivovar.

Here’s a view of our hotel in the distance from Magnolia Marketplace.
We hung out in the hotel for a while and drank coffee and decided what to eat for dinner.
The hotel was a charming little place. I got some good video of it for the vlog. There was a restaurant attached that was a Chezk restaurant and brewery which was like German. We had two free coupons for free beer in the restaurant so we used those and then ordered cheesecake so we at least ordered something. And we took it to the room to have for later.

We made dinner reservations at a place called Pignetti’s which was an Italian restaurant. It was a very cute restaurant and the food was good. We were honestly still kinda full from lunch. But the food and service was great.
Back to the room, we settled in and watched Netflix and ate cheesecake and slept hard. Sleep was pretty good, but there was a train right next to our room and one came thru at 2 a.m. It didn’t scare me but it woke me up. I actually liked it as we can hear trains in the distance at home too. It doesn’t blow its horn anymore as much but it was heartwarming to me. Strange I know. As for Katy, she thought Jesus had arrived and was upset that she wasn’t floating yet to meet Jesus. Then she realized it was the train.
We had breakfast at Magnolia Table in Waco. It was so good. The biscuits were incredible and with strawberry butter.

I got an iced cold brew to go with lavender. And we headed over to the Magnolia Market shops. Not gonna lie. The shops products were very pricey, which I had expected. I bought a water bottle from there and a coffee mug. The water bottle on sale and it will help me drink water I think. And it came with a free latte. I gave it to Katy because I just couldn’t drink any more even though it was decaf.
Got lots of footage of the Magnolia Markets.
We had 2.5 hours of driving back to Breckinridge TX. We then went and had a late lunch in Breckinridge at the Black Horse as we were still full from breakfast.
Then we went to United and I bought a few groceries for me to eat for times we were kinds on our own. Bread, bacon, eggs, pimento and cheese, peanut butter, chips and salsa, coffee k-cups, wine, and I bought some little coronitas, and a lime. I forget what else I bought.
Then we went and got the kids from daycare. Katy fixed spaghetti. And we watched House Hunters International and then everyone went to bed. I slept on the sofa as there wasn’t approval yet for me to sleep in the guest house. The person to ask was out of town. But was given permission today so this afternoon I moved my stuff in and unpacked a bit.

This morning Trace had a doc appointment in Abilene at 9:55 so we left about 8:30 to get there.
After that we ate lunch at Fuzzy’s Tacos in Abilene. It was so good. There was a wildlife area in back to walk and had some stuff for the kids to do back there.
Then we went shopping in Albany TX on the way back home.
I got settled in to the guest house. And watched a YouTube show while the kids napped. And then headed back over to Katy’s for a Bible Study along with her friends. We had snacks at the Bible Study. After that was finished we ate again with Cody and had a charcuterie board and snacks.
I came back over to the guest house and finally am able to finish this blog entry. I’ve slept for several hours and did ok sleeping by myself. It’s 2:30 in the morning and I remembered I hadn’t saved this and published it so here I am. lol
No problem, I’ll be back to sleep soon for the other half of my night’s sleep.
It seems there are a few mice in the house. I’m not scared of them but would rather not be surprised by them. One time it was on the sofa where I was sitting earlier. That bothered me. lol I’ll be inspecting the area before sitting there again. If I do sit there again.
Better than a scorpion.
Anyway I better get back to sleep. Nothing much going on tomorrow. But don’t want to be too far behind schedule on the sleeping.
Hope you all are having a great week. And a great weekend ahead.
The den reveal is tomorrow’s video which I’m calling the “living room” for title purposes as most the world calls it the living room or living area. I’ll post the link as I can tomorrow.
Take care.
Sonya

Morning. We even have the same sleep pattern. I woke up and saw your post thinking what is Sonya doing up at this time of the morning. She’s on vacation!
You are having a very busy trip. Sounds like some good places to eat.
The grandchildren are so sweet. I love the Mickey Mouse. Nice picture of you and your daughter.
As for the mice, they don’t eat much. Haha! Yeah, that would have me a little unsettled but I agree, at least it not scorpions.
Enjoy the rest of your vacation.
