Dust Storms and Scorpions / Plus Update

Here’s the final chapter, and an exciting one, to our last few days in Texas. You can watch it HERE. I think the picture above, gives you an insight. A chatty little vlog with lots of video of the storm, a bit of an honest and anxious video, but just maybe it all ends well, and a little taste of our Hot Springs weekend on the way home. Might the fun reunion with the dogs be at the end? You betcha!
Update: What’s Going On?
Well, I got the Spring and Summer Bucket list going. We’ll take this one thru August. There’s a lot on there. It’ll make your head spin, lol. But we will take it one day at a time. It’s not meant to be a stressor, but yet a source of excitement at the opportunities ahead. What all can we do? Where all can we go? What shall we focus on? What do we want to cook? What restaurants are in our vision? Are there gift cards to use up? What do we want to accomplish? I did a little video on this. It’ll be posted on Wed April 16.

Storms Continue

I am so tired of spring already. There has been this major system across the US that has plagued havoc upon a lot of us with flooding rains, tornadoes, and threats. Thankfully we have a basement but it’s grating on my nerves in a big way. I’ve not left the house in days. I’m glad I didn’t have to navigate around a work schedule. So there’s that. The storm system comes back through today and hovers. And as bad luck would have it, George left his wallet in his buddy’s car last night so we have to drive to the next city over to retrieve it. I have to drive because you know – his drivers license is in his wallet. I told George we are not going the heavy rain and storms! He said “I knew that already”. And his buddy said “don’t come before 9:00, lol”. They went to a concert last night. I stayed home and enjoyed the evening here. I had not ever heard of the band and thought it would be a good night for the guys. So three of them headed out for dinner and concert. George got back in the 11:00 p.m. hour and took Dexter out. I took Dexter out both last night and this morning but he will NOT pee with me. He has to have George, lol. I can’t believe he left the wallet and now we have to drive to go get it. But I’m going nowhere while there’s storms and heavy rain threatening. The area floods also and we have 3 to 6 inches more coming. ::sigh::.
At 5:00 a.m. (yes that is right, not much sleep) we had tornado warnings to our west. I asked the Lord if I should go ahead and get up or just wait til an alarm went off. Maddie got up out of bed so that was “my sign”. I took her out and fed her. That got Dexter up. I tried to take care of him without bothering George but Dexter went back and woke George up by jumping on the bed and telling him it was time to go out. He finally let me get his harness on, and I put leash on but all he wanted to do was check things out. George came out seeing me out with Dexter (he’s really almost too strong for me) so he came out and took over. Dexter finally conducted business.
I don’t have much to report today to you. Just storms, storms, storms. I have been keeping up with videos and housework and getting things done slowly as the videos take up so much time. I enjoy them but soon they will have to slow down some. Next week is busy for example, not sure I’ll get much done on my list. I have not looked at all the appointments yet but I know that I have 2 crowns to get at the dentist on Monday, we have fun with friends one day next week, Mom and I will likely get our toes done – unless we move it to the following week (we may) and I’ll need to try and get her out to find some summer capris at some point.
I finished watching Sweet Magnolia’s last night. I really like that show. I think I might actually like to read the book sometime. I really liked the show with the hurricane and how the community comes together to save the town in its financial crises. There’s a lot of lessons to be learned. And few shows have good morals, these days where people love each other and help each other and come together.
Ok on to do some other things! Hope you all are safe from the storms.

Hi Sonya, early this week but truth to tell I havnt checked out the Vlog yet. Just wanted to say I’m praying that you will be safe driving George to his friends to get his wallet, he will drive you back …hopefully and you will both be safe. I leave you in Gods hands….Im sorry your having such storms so often. We have had a lot of rain earlier in the year with lots of floods. However this month April and last few days of March have been WONDERFUL. Sunshine every day I think you know how much I love the sun I’ve been able ..at last..to read my birthday books, read two now and just started my third. Although we have had warm days we have had cold nights with frost a lot of mornings which is not good if we try to plant non-hardy plants…forgetting it’s not yet May….. I’m hoping to check out the Vlog tonight before I put lights out. Take care. Thanks again for keeping us up with your news. night night. God Bless

We made it. Lots of rain at first but I drove to Starbucks! I told George that was my reward! The friend lived way out in the country but we made it with no flooded roads and the rain quit until after we got back. Thanks for praying. More storms here tonight. Was in the basement for a bit.
