After reaching 5,000 subscribers, we finally sat down and answered your questions. You can watch it HERE.

Other Updates

Well, hmmm. What to say? We spend our days working on projects, getting things done around the house, working on YouTube and music, picking out recipes, reading some, watching TV some, planning and tracking, and that about sums it up. lol

The days they go so fast. I have a little routine that goes something like this:

  • Awake and dogs out for business. Usually 6:00 ish.
  • Feed dogs and make coffee
  • Sit with coffee and go through my Daily Reminder list on iPhone.
  • Say a prayer to start the day
  • Do my morning devo (only 3 days left in my retirement devo book)
  • Do World Bible School grading, respond to messages, and adopt more students.
  • Check a family member’s bank account
  • Wish Facebook friends a happy birthday
  • Check the weather
  • Start the laundry (sometimes I do this after I make coffee so it can be going).
  • Take BP meds
  • Exercise (walking pad or YouTube led exercise)
  • Cooling off – usually work on something in my office or do a household chore
  • Shower and Get Ready
  • Eat breakfast
  • Work on laundry, possibly a 2nd load if needed, drying, folding
  • Clean kitchen if needed – dishes up, counters spritzed up
  • Take care of any phone calls and business related things for ourselves or for a family member (health appts, bills, tax prep, property taxes, Amazon orders, etc.
  • Filming (if it’s a filming day)
  • Projects on my list (either house projects, personal projects, or video work)
  • Dogs go out again about 11:00

That usually gets us to 12 or so, if not later. Then I eat lunch.

Afternoons go by really fast too. It goes something like this:

  • Mid day quick prayer.
  • Take Vit B, D, and this time of year C
  • Afternoon spent with any of the projects, often multiple: house projects, video work, personal projects
  • Dogs go out again about 4:00 when you are right in the middle of something important (happens every day, lol)
  • I try to be done in my office at 5 for afternoon reading but lately have opted to continue finishing video editing as the day is gone and I’m not finished doing what I wanted
  • Check on a family member
  • Post on Instagram Stories at least once a day up to 3x a day. Trying to get back in the habit.
  • I cook one night a week right now. Tonight is lasagna night. :-). Fixing Valerie Bertinelli’s family lasagna dish.
  • Reading
  • Watching a Netflix Show or YouTube show
  • Dogs go out again around 9 and I make efforts toward bed. Often reading, checking messages, and take my PM supplements (sleep spray of melatonin, take magnesium, probiotic, and turmeric).

Then get up and do it all over again. I’m really shocked at how the routine has sprouted up and I find it hard to get everything done on my list I wanted. I think it’s because I’m determined to do God’s Work first, then our house work or work needed to be done for family member, then YouTube, and of course if George and I have excursions during the day into the community to run errands or do things, it pushes it all over to another day. So even though I’m not working, the days become so full. It’s not stress though, but I definitely try and maintain a schedule.

I think if I didn’t I would read and do videos and then be harried at trying to get housework and responsibilities done. Because I would be playing all day and not doing other things. So I try to be disciplined and boy I am! But I might schedule a couple of “free days” a month where anything goes and responsibilities go by the way side. Maybe I will do that when we get back from Texas. It’ll be like a work off day. lol. Why not?

This Week’s Goals

  • Cleaning out the Fridge (Did it yesterday and filmed it, lol)
  • Hemming those darn PJ’s that have been on my list for 2 to 3 years, lol. (Pushed to tomorrow)
  • Outing with George (Did it Monday, video’d it)
  • Helping Church to pack the Magi Boxes (Doing it Friday at church)
  • Working on my Passport (Finished the draft yesterday and have plans this afternoon to do the final copy in black ink). Then I will resume getting pic and getting an appt after Texas.
  • Doing the Grandson Board – on for tomorrow.
  • Valentine Dinner retake – possibly tomorrow night if George doesn’t have guys night. Last week’s valentine dinner, carefully selected was a total nightmare. I video’d it, so stay tuned, lol.
  • Tax Appt for us – it’s Thursday.
  • And of course video edits and filming- usually two a week, uploading, doing the description, promoting the video etc.
  • Weekly planning and review (every Saturday for the upcoming week)
  • My cooking night: Lasagna night, tonight.
  • Start the puzzle (why is this so hard to do when it’s so fun?)

OK well I need to get a move on because I have goals, lol lol.

Ya’ll have a lovely day and thanks for watching. If you read the blog here and now want to watch the video here is the link again. Watch it HERE. See you later in the week.

I laughed when I read your goal for hemming your PJ’s. Sewing is my hobby, especially quilting, but hemming/mending is not something I enjoy doing. I have two pairs of yoga pants that seem to get longer every time I wash them. They started out at an OK length and now they have stretched so much that they drag on the floor and I’m constantly walking on them. They are both on my list to hem and I just don’t want to do it. It’s not hard. I have a great sewing machine which will make sewing them a breeze. I just don’t want to do it. I can find all sorts of things to do instead of hemming them. I just don’t want to do it. LOL.

Hemming those PJ’s (with 50 extra hours a week) lol!! I’ve got tasks just like that (always there, always put off) so I get a chuckle whenever you mention it! I think this has been on your list at least since I discovered you on YT by watching your “I Gave My Notice” video! Is that true?? Ha ha

Hi Sonya and George, That was great both the blog and vlog…I’m so pleased your both retired and enjoying life. I’m sure this will get better and better..Spring and summer will soon be here and on any nice day you can just drop whatever was on your …to do..list and drive out for a trip to somewhere you’ve often thought you’d like to visit but didn’t have time. Oh yes happy days are ahead even dogs are going to enjoy seeing new places and people…take care. God Bless

You look so much better since you retired. You look rested and happy. I liked the question and answer video. Especially Georges story about finding Little Bit.
Looking forward to hearing about your new adventures.
