Blogmas Day 17: Time with Family and Planning Christmas Meals.

We visited an assisted living place today. Only to donate something but still it was good to see this place. Hearthstone Assisted Living in Lebanon TN. It is a place I would consider for Mom.

We ate lunch on the square in Lebanon at Town Square Social. And ate with Aunt Martha and Uncle Ken up from FL. Here was my view out the window.

George and I came home and worked on our to do lists. Laundry for me, some weekly planning, and meal planning and writing grocery lists and making my to do lists for the Christmas meals and figuring out when to make what.

I have a lot to do Friday and Saturday. Friday we will do the grocery shopping and Saturday I need a chunk of prep time. But we also will be hanging out with Katy and Cody and River also that day I think.

I’m a little stressed but trying not to be.

We got all the wrapping done. Thank goodness.

It’s also a busy work week as usual.

Some things are not exact on this week’s calendar but you can see how busy it is. It’s like that every week though lol.

Anyway. I’m going to go and get a few last things done before bed.

Here’s the menus only we are not having chicken and dressing but smoked turkey. I was confused.

Some of the Christmas Day table has changed also. George bought a ham. And there won’t be sushi.

I’m off Friday and we will be going to the store then and starting to get ready. So I have the weekend planned for my to do’s each day. Ok gotta go to bed!

But everything is coming together! Have a great week!

I’m glad you saw that assisted housing complex. I wonder if that is what we call. Sheltered housing over here. That is where I used to work before I retired and moved to Box. the housing I lived in with my Mother was also where I worked There were 24 mixed flats 1/2 bedrooms. They were rented not bought. Their rent included central heating rates etc also helped pay for us. There was Connie, senior Warden, full time, then Pam, Marjorie, and me as deputies. We gave 24/7 care. All the tenants were fairly independent did their own shopping etc but we checked every day they were ok and if needed anything we would get it for them…Is that similar to what you would like for Mum ? It’s an exceedingly good system…Some of the more active tenants did not want or need to be checked every day…but we did check them discreetly……hope you get everything done so you can be with Kate Cody and the wee fella, without your mind being elsewhere…take care. Xx

It’s called “assisted living” in the US. All meals are cooked for them. They have to get dressed and come to each meal I think.

There’s different levels of care for different rates. But someone checks on them. Different ones probably have different rules. It’s generally pretty expensive as they clean and give meds etc.
