Sometimes Change is Needed

A woman with gray hair looks thoughtfully with a serious expression, beside a wall displaying inspirational quotes. Text overlay reads 'IT HAS TO CHANGE!' and 'LESS HUSTLE, MORE COFFEE'.

You can watch the latest vlog HERE. This one is the one where I decide that life as I know it has to change. Enjoy. Yes I know, it’s Wednesday, but I had a week where I vlogged twice in one week so I needed to post twice so the videos are not 3 weeks behind real life instead of two.

Life Update:

It’s been busy still but not quite as busy in “outings”. Things have calmed a little – only a little – and any trips out have been quicker and not taken up as much time.

So the plumbing is fixed, George fixed the best lasagna I’ve ever had – a vegetable lasagna, everything is ready to go now for next week’s outing in our black tie clothing. Mom had not been feeling well but she is better this week and I’m taking her to get her nails and toes done. In the meantime I’ll run to Walmart, get a birthday gift card for a family member, maybe do some Christmas shopping, sale shopping, some dry goods grocery shopping, and kill some time there. I am in the market for some outdoor shoes for winter for walking the dogs. My crocs blew out! lol

I have a fall video coming out this Saturday and so this week has been busy in the way that I have spent a lot of time editing videos and the fall video had 2 hours of coverage so I’m still trying to weed it out and down to 1 hour. So much happened that week and I didn’t want to vlog it into separate vlogs and have to do two in a week again so I’m deleting out the boring and less interesting parts and hopefully what’s left will be all the good stuff. I am excited for how it will turn out.

Our anniversary is tomorrow. It’s been 34 years. I was thinking yesterday that at times during our marriage it seemed like we were not good mates for each other, and we definitely had our issues. I can’t say that we have perfectly worked through each one. I could dredge up some stuff that still needs to be worked through if I had too, but over all, I was thinking yesterday as I picked his card out, that we have been really good partners for each other through the years. When it’s all said and done, we’ve mostly good friends as well, having each other’s backs and getting through tough times and also knowing how to enjoy the good times together. Although not perfect we have meshed together very well in our every day living and enjoyment of life. I think we can be rocks for each other when needed. But sometimes we push each other’s buttons with our differences, as most do, and I think we mostly know how to navigate around said buttons —-until the day one of us is “hangry” or not had enough sleep and then our honest opinions slip out a little more easily and —oops —the button is pushed. Such as is life. But I like our marriage the way it is and that’s a good thing I guess. We have a nice steak place picked out to celebrate our being able to navigate 34 years of good times and tolerance of the bad times. I think after 34 years he understands me better. Not completely, but in recent years, especially after Mom moved up here, I think he now understands me more than ever.

My sister is recovering still. She is still in a lot of pain and has had to have a local friend and nurse help her some with some of the details of care as she is over an hour away from the hospital. And she and her husband own a carpet business they run and so they are trying to keep that going. They have a lot going on as well and so I am praying for them.

ok I’ve nothing else to blog about. It’s life as normal here, and we are keeping busy every day with the day’s plans. I am still doing well without having my “to do” list aggravate me, lol. If you want to watch the video, you can watch it HERE.

Have a good rest of the week and I’ll post Saturday’s video (the fall decor one) then.

Hey, striped shirt/Tybee island/N Ga mtn. Fan- Dee. I just saw your video. You had me at the Dunkins breakfast sandwich and pumpkin munchkins. and MCCays. I’ve been there too. Dunkin used to Require 3 munchkins and then it was 5 munchkins and now it is 10. When I strictly dieted, 3 pumpkin munchkins was 180 calories. I am not a Starbucks Pumpkin spice latte fan , but I do like Dunkin’s pumpkin baked goods. ( Starbucks has a pecan cortado this fall that is very good, but it is 3 shots espresso. No sleep)………I will be going to Nashviile at some point to meet up with family/financial advisor as I will be early retiring next year at 63. McCay’s and Trader Joe’s are on my agenda…it’s just an excuse to meet in person so I can visit my friend Tom and go to all the cool places….I really like your sunroom with the fireplace. I would probably live out there. Your hair pulled back in the barrette in those scenes looks cute. The thing about your to do list ruling you had me nodding because I’d had those thoughts before when you posted, yet I so admired your productivity. But no to do list is too little. Just a little to do list that you have resolved sounds just right..Goldilocks. Thrift stores in Nashville have better plus size clothes but then I live in a town of 5000. Im heading to Dollywood for my birthday in October. it’s cheesy but I’ve never been. Let me know if you have recommendations for there. I like your title Less Hustle More Coffee…I would like to see more coffee. I enjoy finding independent coffee places and schedule outings around them sometimes. I used to read a blog that is gone now where started the post with a photo of her mug for the day with her coffee selection. Im just a nerd

I do need to show more coffee scenes, lol because I love it so. I liked the pumpkin munchkin- but wasn’t a fan of the plain glazed. I try to do cold brew if I get a flavor. I don’t know what I’m doing when I order coffee lol 😂 I just don’t like it too sweet and don’t do artificial sugar. Have a great time in Nashville when you go! I just got my hair cut short. Looks pretty bad at times but I’m getting used to it. I’m not as productive with the to do list not beating down on me. But I’m happier and have been enjoying life more, thinking more, and feel less of a robot. I’m reading more, watching more, but enjoying more. Hopefully I can pitch it up a notch here soon but think I’ve just been burned out.

It makes my day when I hear from you...
