Managing Life with Grace and Ease….or Maybe NOT!

I realized last night, as I lay my head on my pillow that somehow, I was finding time to do things I wanted to do even with the elevated levels of our new “busy” this year in 2021. While 2020 had its own “NEW NORMAL”, I am realizing that 2021 will begin yet another chapter of a “NEW NORMAL”. I’ve prayed for God to help me to have strength and endurance for the new levels of busy and responsibility.

So as I fell asleep I recalled how I was able to work FT and get my work done, go pack up Mom, eat with friends, read a book, listen to a book, listen to music, download new music, grocery shop, clean on the house, run errands with George, exercise every day including a YouTube Work out, iron, sign up for a new dentist, cancelled an old one, do some shopping, paid for a foot massage, and even got to start working on the next video. A grand mix of work and fun and exercising and resting. All in the last four days. NOT BAD.

It’s all been broken up in little bits of time. I’ve discovered on the videos that if I blog every other day, I can get some video editing done on the alternate days.

Healthy Breakfast

Getting in Some Spring Walks While the Weather is Good

Breakfast was good yesterday. It certainly held me til lunch time. And I’ve been walking at lunch while it’s pretty. Instead of pushing the 30 minute rule, I’ve decided to be ok with 20 so I can have time to eat. I just bring the microwaved food back to my desk and eat.

As you can see, it’s been beautiful lately. Soon these flowers (pansies, I believe) will be replaced with a more summer hearty variety. These are cold weather flowers above/below. They can endure a lot of the cold air and near freezing temps. As the summer approaches they will replace them with flowers that can endure the heat.

Time with a Friend/Neighbor

So I was able to go walk with a friend after work yesterday. We did a 20 minute walk and then went to Oushi for a hibachi style dinner. It was great. George and I go a lot of times but we usually just do the restaurant part. I like both ways. I think the restaurant part is better for conversation and the Hibachi style is more for entertainment while you eat. I love the food and the meal you get for Hibachi style though.

Then, my friend Christy said we should go for a foot massage. I was thinking she meant along with a pedicure. lol. I didn’t realize you could go and just get a foot massage. I’d never done that. There is a massage place near Publix and near the Oishi place we ate at. We stopped in as their sign said OPEN. We got a foot soak and then a 30 minute foot/leg massage. I am going back in a month or so and getting the back massage. It’s the kind you sit in a chair and they massage your neck and shoulders. I think I may do this quarterly after quarter end! My shoulders and back always need it then. I’m excited to find this place. I have always thought you had to take your clothes off and wrap in a towel or sheet and I was never wanting to do that. It was so relaxing.

I did feel bad about spending a lot of money in one night though. But then again when you consider we didn’t get to do a whole lot last year, lol, I didn’t worry about it long. ha! Plus, the girls night outs are few and far between. But that was great! It so fun to get out.

Thinking of a New HairStyle – Well, an Old One Really

I want my hair to be shorter. I really kinda wanted that last time but it ended up being a little longer somehow.

I really just want the old Meg Ryan cut. But starting a bit shorter. (I remember this day above. I was at work and didn’t really want to be. I was trying to take a pic and smile but I just didn’t want to be there that day and all I could do was smirk, lol). But this above, is kinda what I want to go back to for the summer.

When the girl cut mine last time I ended up with this.

But the stylist couldn’t come to my house to style it like that every morning so it ended up like this the rest of the time and I’ve not been happy with it. So I guess I have to just go shorter all over? I was trying to stick with longer layers, but it is not working. I think I just don’t know what to ask for. I can only show them.

Dumpy Frumpy look must go!

I guess the main thing I want is to be able to style it quickly, have it have some body and a little bit of height, and look good as it grows out. Usually I’m happy as it grows in the various stages but this hair cut I’ve had, I liked for two days and then I was over it. It’s not meshed together as it has grown and I can’t deal with it. I’ve not been able to make it do it’s thing. I wonder if I need to go back to my other stylist or try a new one, but I’ll give this one another chance, because I’ve seen the work she does on others, it’s just this hair style didn’t work well with me and my life style. So we’ll try again. I think it’s 2 or 3 weeks away. I did go ahead and chop on it a week ago but it’s hard for me to get the back, so I’ll just let her do a good chopping on it. I guess I’ll go back to having it somewhat feathered! I don’t like a feathered look but maybe it’s just what I’m used to working with. My hair is thick in the back and thinning on the top, so it’s kinda weird to work with these days.

And ONCE WE CAN GET RID OF THESE DARN MASKS I WILL BEGIN TO WEAR MAKE UP AGAIN! BUT NOT ONE IOTA OF MAKE UP GOING ON MY FACE UNTIL THAT ENDS. Thankfully our mandate is OVER in Wilson Co. Some businesses are still requiring it upon entry but most places I’ve been lately have taken their mask requirement signs down. The restaurant last night no longer required it. The foot massage place did. I’m happy to see the signs come down. Supposedly 50% of Americans are vaccinated. The virus is still around but it seems to be spreading less. It’s not overtaking us anyway.

Meanwhile in Texas….

Hi Sonya, firstly what a great photo of the baby, he looks so much older than he is in the last photos, he looks a bit like his Dad I think……Kate is looking lovely as always….I’m jealous at the thought of you having such a wonderful foot and leg massage like you I’ve never had it done like that as for a shoulder and back massage whilst sitting would suit me to the ground. Being unable to really lie on my front or my back for that matter the idea of sitting on a chair would be my idea of heaven I wouldn’t even mind the cost I’d be on the chair in a truce LOL…
It’s amazing how much you manage to pack into your day, I always say you tire me out and that’s just reading about all you try to pack in….LOL
Take care though and make sure you tuck in some……me……time every day,
    Night night. God Bless

I’m sorry Sybil. I wish this for you too! I didn’t even know we could go and get a foot massage.

That little man River, is adorable. Mommy looks great!
I’m glad you were able to get some playtime in your schedule. It’s a must for a good attitude. 🙂
Just tell your new hairdresser shorter layers please. They love the word “shorter”. lol

Yeah. I confused the issue by saying longer layers – I’ll end up scalped lol 😂

Beautiful pansies. I have a flower pot of them from last year on my porch. I was surprised they bloomed again this year. They are not as pretty as yours are though.

They are at work- I didn’t plant anything last year and need to this year. Took those pics on my walk. I hope I have time to plant.

It makes my day when I hear from you…
